Photo Flash: Seattle Shakespeare Company's MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, Opening Tonight

Seattle Shakespeare Company's Much Ado About Nothing takes on the flavor of the Riviera in 1953 in Artistic Director George Mount's season opening. Highlights in the production include original music by Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra's Michael Brockman, and a lagoon with water in the Center Theatre. Check out a first look below!

Nathaniel Stampley and Alicia Hall Moran to Star in PORGY AND BESS National Tour, Kicking Off at the Ahmanson, 4/23

Casting has been announced for the national tour of 'The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess,' winner of the 2012 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival, which will open at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre on April 23 and play through June 1, 2014. (Preview on April 22.) The tour, accompanied by a 23-piece orchestra, is set to launch at San Francisco's Golden Gate Theatre this November.

Harry Hamlin & More to be Honored at A.C.T.s' Conservatory Awards Luncheon, 10/28

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2013-14 Conservatory Awards, which recognizes and honors outstanding alumni of A.C.T.'s award-winning actor training program and pays tribute to donors and organizations who have provided significant support to the Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) Program Scholarship Fund. The third annual Conservatory Awards luncheon raises necessary funding for M.F.A. Program scholarships while celebrating A.C.T.'s accomplishments with award winners and current M.F.A. Program students. The winners of the five awards to be presented are Emmy Award-nominated actor and A.C.T. M.F.A. Program honorary graduate Harry Hamlin, who receives The Edward Hastings Career Achievement Award; actress of stage and screen Heidi Armbruster, who receives The Rising Star Award; actor and Shakespeare Iraq drama teacher Peter Friedrich, who receives the Contribution to the Field Award; Joan W. Sadler, who receive The Benefactor Award; and Wells Fargo, which receives The Champion Award. The star-studded event will take placeMonday, October 28, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. in the Veranda Ballroom at San Francisco's Four Seasons Hotel. Tickets and table sponsorships are now available. Laguna Playhouse's FALLEN ANGELS Begins Tonight

The Laguna Playhouse Executive and Artistic Directors, Karen Wood and Ann E. Wareham are delighted to present a new look at a hilarious classic, fresh off a critically-acclaimed run at the Pasadena Playhouse. Prepare to be intoxicated by FALLEN ANGELS, written by Noel Coward and directed by Art Manke. 'This is a deliriously giddy look at a rarely produced play by the one-and-only master of the sophisticated comedy, Noel Coward,' offers Wood. 'We are thrilled to present this brilliant and wickedly fun production to our subscribers and audiences and we know they will leave our theatre as charmed by this production as we are!' adds Wareham. FALLEN ANGELS will open tonight, October 12 at 7:30pm and run through Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.

MRS. MANNERLY Opens Tonight at TheaterWorks

From the author of Ella: Off the Record comes Mrs. Mannerly by Jeffrey Hatcher. The irreverent and clever comedy will run at TheaterWorks in Downtown Hartford, tonight, October 11 through November 17, 2013.

The Player's Guild at the Festival Playhouse Presents 'Trick or Treat' October 11 - 27 in Arvada

Now in their 78th year, The Player's Guild at the Festival Playhouse presents 'Trick or Treat'October 11 - 27, playing Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $17 Fridays and Saturdays, $15 on Sundays for adults and are available by calling 303-422-4090. Francois Battiste, Michael Crane, Ethan Phillips and Zach Shaffer Join MTC's TAKING CARE OF BABY; Full Cast Announced!

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced full casting for the American premiere of Taking Care of Baby by Dennis Kelly and directed by Erica Schmidt. Joining previously announced cast members Reed Birney (Blasted, Our Leading Lady), Kristen Bush (Kin, The Common Pursuit), Tony nominee Amelia Campbell (A Streetcar Named Desire, Our Country's Good) and Margaret Colin (The Columnist, 'Gossip Girl'), are Francois Battiste (Magic/ Bird), Michael Crane (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson off-Broadway), Ethan Phillips (Golden Age) and Zach Shaffer ('Smash').

Wes Hurley to Star in Arts on the Waterfront's All-Male CABARET in Seattle

Wes Hurley, author of the Huffington Post's article 'Growing up Gay in Russia', is set to star as the EmCee in a modern new production of Cabaret. Arts on the Waterfront's new production will be set in Russia instead of the usual Germany, combining theatre, drag, and short clips of the actual vigilantes/neo-nazis to comment on the recent events in Russia. The production will also feature Zachary Simonson of Seattle Repertory Theater's 'American Buffalo' as well as members of the Seattle drag community.

Director of Marketing Jim Royce to Exit Center Theatre Group

Jim Royce, Center Theatre Group's longtime Director of Marketing, Communications and Sales, will be leaving his position with the Los Angeles theatre company in February 2014 to further expand his arts consulting business.

Dallas Theater Center Stages CLYBOURNE PARK in Rep with A RAISIN IN THE SUN, Now thru 10/27

Dallas Theater Center has announced the regional premiere of Clybourne Park, running in rotating rep with A Raisin in the Sun, to launch the theater's 55th season. Clybourne Park will be directed by DTC Associate Artistic Director Joel Ferrell. Clybourne Park begins with a Pay-What-You-Can performance tonight, October 4 and runs through Sunday, October 27 at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

BWW Reviews: Seattle Rep's THE SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS … Too … Much … Laughing … Can't Breathe!

(Sputter, gasp wheeze) There, I can breathe again. So you know when you go to a show and there's that one actor on stage who is so good, so funny, that the show and the other actors just kind of revolve around them like some theatrical sun warming all in its orbit? OK, now imagine an entire stage filled with that actor and you'll have the Seattle Rep's current production of "The Servant of Two Masters" which kicks off their 51st season not with a bang but with a hearty belly laugh that lasts for two and a half hours.

Lisa Peterson to Direct Noor's Next Highlight Reading, 10/7

Noor Theatre's Highlight Reading Series continues this Monday at 7:30pm with an excerpt of The Shadow Spirit, by Ibn Daniyal. Written in Cairo in the 13th century, this saucy, satirical piece offers a raucous glimpse into medieval Cairo's underworld of pimps, prostitutes and dirty dealings. This is a rare opportunity to hear one of Egypt's earliest secular plays, which was written by a contemporary of Chaucer.

Husband-Wife Team Wins TPS' 2013 Gregory A. Falls Sustained Achievement Award; Ceremony Set for 10/28

Theatre Puget Sound (TPS) has announced husband and wife team, John Kazanjian and Mary Ewald as the 2013 recipients of the Gregory A. Falls Sustained Achievement Award. The committee of prior recipients has made this selection to honor their dedication to the Seattle theatre community, much of it through their efforts with The New City Theatre. This award along with 17 others will be presented at the 5th Annual Gregory Awards being held at The Neptune Theatre on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 7:30pm.

Marlo Thomas to Lead World Premiere of Joe DiPietro's CLEVER LITTLE LIES at George Street Playhouse; Performances to Begin 11/19

George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint have announced the casting of MARLO THOMAS, award-winning actress of stage and screen, in the world premiere production of Clever Little Lies, by Tony Award-winner JOE DiPIETRO (rescheduled from the 2012-13 season). Mr. Saint will helm the production, slated to take the stage in New Brunswick, November 19 - December 22. The remainder of the cast will be announced at a later date.

Mark Blum, Diane Davis and More Star in Primary Stages' THE MODEL APARTMENT, Beg. Tonight

Primary Stages continues its 29th season with a new production of their acclaimed 1995 OBIE Award winner, The Model Apartment, by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies (Shipwrecked!, Time Stands Still, Dinner with Friends, Sight Unseen). Directed by Evan Cabnet (A Kid Like Jake at Lincoln Center Theater, The Performers on Broadway), the production will feature Mark Blum (The Assembled Parties and Gore Vidal's The Best Man on Broadway), Diane Davis (Old Acquaintance on Broadway, Regrets Only at MTC), two-time Obie Award-winner Kathryn Grody (The Marriage of Bette & Boo, Top Girls, A Mom's Life), and Hubert Point-Du Jour (Angels in America andThe Brother/Sister Plays Off-Broadway).
