Jack Willis to Lead Arena Stage's ALL THE WAY

Robert Schenkkan's Tony Award-winning drama All the Way, about President Lyndon Baines Johnson's impassioned struggle to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964, makes its Washington, D.C. debut at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Kyle Donnelly, who has directed more than 20 productions at Arena Stage, returns to helm this "sure-fire, action packed hit" (Huffington Post) about a country still reeling from the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the man tasked with calming the storm. Hailed as a "sensational night of theater" (NPR), All the Way runs April 1-May 8, 2016 in the Fichandler Stage.

Lindsay Mendez, Derek Klena & More to Perform Songs of Rosser & Sohne at Feinstein's/54 Below

On Sunday, February 21st at 9:30pm, Jonathan Larson Award and Mary Rodgers/Lorenz Hart Award winners Tim Rosser and Charlie Sohne will be back on the Feinstein's/54 Below stage for the first time in over 2 years. Hear selections from some of their latest projects including Run Away Home, Talk To Me, The Boy Who Danced on Air, and their new slash fiction boy band pilot Truth Slash Fiction.  

Robert Joy & More Round Out Cast of Public Theater's HEAD OF PASSES with Phylicia Rashad

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the New York premiere of HEAD OF PASSES, written by Tarell Alvin McCraney and directed by Tina Landau. Part of Oskar Eustis' 10th anniversary season, HEAD OF PASSES begins previews on Tuesday, March 15 in the Newman Theater and runs through Sunday, April 17, with an official press opening on Monday, March 28.

August Wilson's HOW I LEARNED WHAT I LEARNED Begins 3/5 at Huntington Theatre Company

The Huntington Theatre Company will present the powerful memoir August Wilson's How I Learned What I Learned, co-conceived and directed by Todd Kreidler (Guess Who's Coming to Dinner adapter at the Huntington) and featuring Eugene Lee (Radio Golf, Gem of the Ocean, and The Piano Lesson at the Huntington), both longtime Wilson collaborators. Performances begin Saturday, March 5 and continue through April 3, 2016 in the BU Theatre / Avenue of the Arts.

Berkeley Rep Sets Full Cast of MACBETH, Starring Conleth Hill & Frances McDormand

Berkeley Rep presents Shakespeare's dark and violent tragedy on the Roda Stage. This classic exploration of the ominous side of ambition tells the story of a couple bound together in their thirst for the Scottish throne. Driven by an evil prophesy and his scheming wife, Macbeth kills the king and claims his crown, thus beginning a moral descent into a reign of terror.

Brandon Ivie Directs UW Musical Theater Program's THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, Beginning Today

University of Washington alum Brandon Ivie directs the second annual production of the newly established Musical Theater Program at the University of Washington. The production, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, which begins performances tonight, will unite working professionals like Ivie and musical director Jordyn Meeker with undergraduates enrolled in the program.

Arena Stage's THE CITY OF CONVERSATION, Starring Margaret Colin, Begins Performances Today

Anthony Giardina's Off-Broadway smash hit THE CITY OF CONVERSATION, about a Georgetown political hostess, makes its Washington, D.C. debut at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater beginning tonight, January 29. Following his direction of the 2014 world premiere at Lincoln Center Theater, Tony Award winner Doug Hughes returns to direct this political drama spanning three decades, from Carter's presidency through the Reagan era and ending with Obama's inauguration. THE CITY OF CONVERSATION runs through March 6, 2016 in the Fichandler Stage.

BWW Review: Sweet, Romantic and Tragic CONSTELLATIONS at the Seattle Rep

Who hasn't wanted a 'do-over' when on a date? Maybe you say the wrong thing, maybe you run into your ex or maybe you trip the waiter, which causes him to knock over a flaming dessert that burns the restaurant to the ground. We've all been there, right? Well according to Nick Payne's beautiful play 'Constellations', currently playing at the Seattle Rep, we might take solace in that there are multiple universes with multiple versions of us who might say or do something a little different.

Lookingglass Theatre Company Names New Artistic Director

? Lookingglass Theatre Company announces the election of its newest Artistic Director, Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman. Stillman has served as Artistic Director of New Work since 2004 and replaces current Artistic Director, Ensemble Member Andrew White. White, who has held the post since 2010, will serve as the company's first Connectivity and Engagement Director. Ensemble Member Philip R. Smith remains on the artistic leadership team in his role as Producing Director. In this spirit of ensemble and collaboration, Lookingglass Ensemble members routinely vote on the position of artistic director every three years. Elections are then ratified by the Lookingglass Board of Directors, and this artistic transition is effective immediately.

Tim Bond to Join Faculty of University of Washington School of Drama

Tim Bond-noted director and educator and current Producing Artistic Director at Syracuse Stage and the Syracuse University Department of Drama-has been hired as a full professor at the University of Washington School of Drama. An alumnus of the School of Drama MFA Directing program, Mr. Bond will teach in both the undergraduate curriculum and the MFA directing and acting programs.

Seattle's TeenTix, an organization dedicated to ensuring equitable access to the arts for all young people, hit a milestone this month when Teatro ZinZanni became its 60th partnered arts organization.

Lineup Announced for 'Festival of the Emerging Musical' in Philadelphia

The University of the Arts' Ira Brind School of Theater Arts announces the 2016 lineup for Polyphone, a "festival of the emerging musical" on the UArts campus in Philadelphia.  Running March 20-27, the 2016 the Polyphone festival produces staged concerts of new musicals and re-imagined canonical works offering professional composers, librettists and directors an opportunity to develop their work among the rich creative community of the Brind School at UArts.  The festival will program five musicals, including both classical and new works, with three performances each.
