More than 100 local and national theatre artists representing nearly than 60 San Diego theatrical productions will compete for the 2015 Craig Noel Awards, the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle announced today.
University of Washington alum Brandon Ivie will direct the second annual production of the newly established Musical Theater Program at the University of Washington. The production, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, will unite working professionals like Ivie and musical director Jordyn Meeker with undergraduates enrolled in the program.

Squeals of delight and blood-curdling screams of fright will fill the Allen Theatre as Cleveland Play House's (CPH) Centennial Season continues with a humorous and heartfelt production of Little Shop of Horrors. Hearkening back to its very first productions in 1915 that featured sophisticated marionettes, CPH is bringing the cheeky and blood-thirsty plant Audrey II to life in a production that will be every vocal coach's dream - and every hemophobic's worst nightmare!
Seattle Repertory Theatre is currently presenting the runaway hit musical COME FROM AWAY, which earlier this month officially became the highest grossing show in the history of Seattle Repertory Theatre. COME FROM AWAY also posted the largest single ticket sales day in the history of Seattle Rep on November 20, a record the show has broken nine times since. According to the Toronto Star, the show might get a chance to break records on Broadway as well.

Anthony Giardina's Off-Broadway smash hit THE CITY OF CONVERSATION, about a Georgetown political hostess, makes its Washington, D.C. debut at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Following his direction of the 2014 world premiere at Lincoln Center Theater, Tony Award winner Doug Hughes returns to direct this political drama spanning three decades, from Carter's presidency through the Reagan era and ending with Obama's inauguration. THE CITY OF CONVERSATION runs January 29-March 6, 2016 in the Fichandler Stage.

The Public Theater announced today that after three years of successful programming and community engagement, PUBLIC WORKS will grow on both a local and national level. Three new community partners join PUBLIC WORKS 2016, which will include Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education (Bronx), Military Resilience Project (all boroughs), and Center for Family Life in Sunset Park (Brooklyn), who join Public Works partners Brownsville Recreation Center (Brooklyn), DreamYard Project (Bronx), and The Fortune Society (Queens), in addition to alumni partners Domestic Workers United (all boroughs, including Staten Island) and Children's Aid Society (Manhattan), as additional community partner organizations.

Asolo Repertory Theatre proudly kicks off its winter repertory season with the 2014 Tony Award winner for Best Play, Pulitzer Prize-winner Robert Schenkkan's political drama ALL THE WAY. Asolo Rep's production will be directed by Emily Sophia Knapp, who served as the associate director of the Broadway, American Repertory Theatre, Seattle Rep and world premiere Oregon Shakespeare Festival productions. Hailed by NPR as a 'sensational night of theatre,' previews for ALL THE WAY are January 6 and 7 at 8pm, opening night is January 8 at 8pm, and the production runs in rotating rep through Saturday, April 9.
