2011 BroadwayWorld Chicago Award Winners Announced! FOLLIES, PUSSY ON THE HOUSE, CATS and More To Be Honored at 12/28 Celebration at The Call

BroadwayWorld.com is proud to announce the results of the second annual BroadwayWorld Chicago Awards, voted on by fans of Chicagoland theater over the past six weeks. The Chicago Shakespeare Theater at Navy Pier is the big winner overall, with six Broadies in the Resident Equity categories, including four for Gary Griffin's celebrated fall production of "Follies."

Voting Begins for 2011 BWW Chicago Awards!

Today, BroadwayWorld.com is announcing the nominees for the 2011 BroadwayWorld Chicago Awards! Representatives of 67 different theater productions, which played at 40 different Chicagoland theaters, are nominated in the 25 categories for the second annual Awards. As these are the only Theater Fan Choice Awards for the internationally known Chicago theater scene, the nominees rightly come from both Equity and Non-Equity theater companies, and from the worlds of plays, musicals, revues and touring shows.

Mary-Archie Theatre Co. Presents RED LIGHT WINTER, Opens 11/10

Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. will present the Midwest premiere of RED LIGHT WINTER at Angel Island, 735 W. Sheridan. It will open Thursday November 10th at 8 p.m. and run Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18 on Thursday and Sunday, $20 on Friday, and $22 on Saturday. There will be $5 previews on Tuesday November 8th and November 9th at 8 p.m. We will close on Sunday, December 18th. There will be no show on Thanksgiving, November 24th. Chicago Shakespeare Theater Announces Extension of MURDER FOR TWO-A KILLER MUSICAL Through November 27

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today that its celebrated premiere comedy Murder for Two-A Killer Musical will be extended into its sixth month through November 27, 2011, Upstairs at Chicago Shakespeare. Nominated for four Joseph Jefferson Awards, including Best New Work-Musical or Revue, this 90-minute Agatha Christie-like whodunit musical comes with a surprising twist: one actor plays the inspector, the other plays all 10 suspects, and both play the piano. Created by Joe Kinosian (music/book) and Kellen Blair (lyrics/book), Murder for Two-A Killer Musical currently features Kinosian as the slew of hilarious would-be criminals. Beginning on October 19, Adam Overett will take over for Alan Schmuckler in the role of Officer Marcus Moscowicz.

Chicago Shakespeare Extends MURDER FOR TWO Thru 10/16

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today that, due to popular demand, its celebrated premiere comedy Murder for Two-A Killer Musical will play through October 16, 2011, Upstairs at Chicago Shakespeare.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today a second extension of its celebrated premiere comedy Murder for Two-A Killer Musical. Due to popular demand, the production will play an additional five weeks through September 4, 2011, Upstairs at Chicago Shakespeare.
