Cast And Creative Team Announced for Virginia Woolf's ORLANDO At The Lyric Stage

In this joyful romance of gender roles and expectations, Orlando the man wakes up, after a particularly wild night in 17th-century Constantinople, to find himself a woman! She abandons herself to three centuries of navigating love, desire, and the world from an entirely different perspective.  Oft described as the most charming love letter in literature - written by Woolf to Vita Sackville-West - Sarah Ruhl brings the novel to life on stage in a grand, epic adventure that transcends time, place, and gender.   

TRANS VOICES CABARET Returns To The Duplex

Pen Parentis Literary Salon welcomes all lovers of literature to come hear from three established authors Min Jin Lee, Jamie Brenner, and Patty Dann. The theme of February's Literary Salon is Secrets. They will read from new works and discuss how they balance a career in poetry with an active young family at home. The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. Announces Aaron Mattocks New Director Of Programming

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc., announced today that Aaron Mattocks will take over as Director of Programming, effective February 1, 2018. Mattocks replaces Martin Wechsler, who stepped down at the end of 2017 after 32 years at The Joyce, 22 of those as Director of Programming, helping to transform the organization into the world's leading presenter of dance.

Zoe Keating to Play Boulder Theater

Cellist and composer Zo Keating is a one-woman orchestra. She uses a cello and a foot-controlled laptop to record layer upon layer of cello, creating intricate, haunting and compelling music. Zo is known for both her use of technology which she uses to sample her cello onstage and for her DIY approach, releasing her music online without the help of a record label.

Works & Process At The Guggenheim Presents A Dance Commission NEW BODIES

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents an encore of choreographer Jodi Melnick's sold-out 2016 commission, NEW BODIES. This Works & Process commissioned work weaves together dance, spoken text, and moderated discussion with live music, featuring New York City Ballet dancers Jared Angle, Sara Mearns, and Taylor Stanley in a role originated by Gretchen Smith, with harpsichord by composer Gy rgy Ligeti, violin by composer Heinrich Biber, and commissioned music by Robert Boston.Also, Melnick, who enjoyed a performance career with Twyla Tharp (among many others), will perform One of Sixty-Five Thousand Gestures, a solo work created in collaboration with the late Trisha Brown.
