The fractured fairy tale about a grumpy ogre learning to believe in his unique self is back with a new cast of youthful actors at Area Stage Company. In ASC's Conservatory production of Shrek the Musical, Jr., twenty plus student actors, ages 11 to 18, perform this irrepressible show July 20 to 22 at the troupe's Coral Gables theatre.

Cappricielli Productions, a production company creating socially conscious content, presents the West Coast Premiere of the story of four cousins reuniting on the eve of their grandmother's wake, Pizza and Whine, written by Raffaela Capp, Veronica Kelly, Maria Capp. The play, directed by Maria Capp, premieres June 1st and will continue through June 23rd, 2018, as an official Fringe Fest selection, at the Hudson Guild Theater, located at 6539 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles.

Due to popular demand, Elevator Repair Service, the Obie-award winning company that brought you Gatz ("the most remarkable achievement in theater of the decade" according to The New York Times), is pleased to extend the world premiere of Everyone's Fine with Virginia Woolf, a new play written by longtime company member Kate Scelsa and directed by Elevator Repair Service Artistic Director John Collins, to June 30. Helmed by Daniella Caggiano, Roller Rink is a coming of age dark comedy romp about six teen chicks at a lesbian roller rink struggling for love in a new and sexiii world. Rootabega (Maggie Metnick*) is super jewy and confused about her sexuality, but luckily one of the rink's employee's, Lemonade (Dani Martineck) is ready to show her around. Poppy (Leah Lane) is finally 16 and her and her BFF Clementine ( Hui-Shan Yong) are super excited to celebrate; too bad a fat, scary, girly repressed secret threatens their friendship. Salmonella (Claire Rose Autran) says she's 'straight' but a chance encounter with an awkward butch artist named Bluebell (Azalea Lewis) complicates everything.

'The Cave: A Folk Opera,' a new folk musical theatre piece inspired by the classic Beauty and the Beast fairy tale, and told entirely through original folk music, will be presented in concert at Access Theatre May 17th-20th, 2018. This production is presented by The Daughters Collective in association with Access Theater. Performances will be at 380 Broadway, New York, N.Y. on May 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th. Yangtze Repertory Theatre (Chongren Fan, Artistic Director; Sally Shen, Executive Director) announces a new production of Romulus the Great, by Friedrich Durrenmatt, based on the translation by Gerhard Nellhaus, directed by Chongren Fan. With performances beginning on Thursday, June 7th at the TBG Theatre (312 West 36thStreet, 3F), Romulus The Great will celebrate it's opening night on Saturday, June 9, and will play through Saturday, June 23.
