Center Theatre Group Offers Spanish Language Open Captioning For VALLEY OF THE HEART

Center Theatre Group will offer Spanish-language translations of the 8 p.m. performance of Luis Valdez's "Valley of the Heart" on Friday, December 7 at the Mark Taper Forum. Each show will be performed in English with Spanish translations running simultaneously on open caption screens. Audience members wishing to view the open captions should request to be seated in the captioning area when purchasing tickets.

OPERA America Announces 2019 Robert L.B. Tobin Director-Designer Showcase Finalists

OPERA America, the national service organization for opera and the nation's leading champion for American opera, is proud to announce the 2019 finalists of the Robert L.B. Tobin Director-Designer Showcase, a biennial program offered as part of OPERA America's continuing commitment to foster emerging opera artists. The showcase, made possible through generous support from the Tobin Theatre Arts Fund, was established to bring promising talent to the attention of field leaders and connect up-and-coming directors and designers with those who are in a position to advance their careers.

Make Music Winter Announces Updated Schedule

Make Music Winter, a free, outdoor music-making celebration held each Dec. 21 and featuring 15 participatory musical parades across New York City that bring communities together, today announced its updated schedule of events. The all-day musical celebration on the winter solstice brings out New Yorkers of all ages and musical ability to sing, play, march and dance their way across streets, parks, plazas and other public spaces across the five boroughs. Make Music Winter, which launched in NYC in 2011 and is expanding nationwide with 30 U.S. cities participating, is the cold-weather counterpart to Make Music Day, the annual global celebration of music occurring on June 21, the summer solstice.

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH Comes To Aventura Arts & Cultural Center

The City of Aventura presents Slow Burn Theatre Company's staging of Hedwig and the Angry Inch starring Carbonell Award winners Dominique Scott and Mallory K. Newbro on Thursday, November 29 and Friday, November 30 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, December 1 at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, December 2 at 2 p.m.

Juan Wauters Returns With New Album, Shares Lead Single/Video

Over the last few years, Latin American artist Juan Wauters has covered a lot of ground, both artistically and geographically. Until this point in his career, most of his songs had been sung in English, but revisiting his Latin roots inspired him to record songs in his native tongue. Today, Wauters announces the wonderful La Onda de Juan Pablo, the world of Juan Pablo Wauters, sung entirely in Spanish and recorded with local musicians along his travels. He's unveiled a video for the album's lead single and infectious love song, 'Guapa' which was inspired by Puerto Rico, where his journey leapt off.

What Will The Neighbors Say? is excited to announce the creative team for the workshop production of Founding Co-Artistic Director James Clements' latest play, Beauty Freak: Leni Riefenstahl's 'Olympia,' this November. The production will officially inaugurate the company's 2018-2019 season at the Plaxall Gallery in Long Island City, following a week long development workshop in the space.
