The Grammy Award-nominated Seraphic Fire, joined by the American Brass Quintet, will make their West Coast debut when they bring their acclaimed program "A Spanish Pilgrimage" to St. James Music Series on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 4 p.m. at St. James by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 743 Prospect Street in La Jolla.
Conducted by founder and artistic director Patrick Dupre Quigley, the American Brass Quintet and Seraphic Fire explore the rich Spanish tradition of music for voice and brass. Audiences will join a journey across the Camino de Santiago via the music of Victoria, Morales, Guerrero, and a world premiere, "O Antiphons," by Australian-Canadian composer Julian Revie.
Parcels is a band on the ascent. The Berlin-based Australian band released their debut self-titled album via Kitsuné / Because Music / Caroline in October, following their Daft Punk co-written and produced single 'Overnight' and U.S. TV debut on Conan in 2017. The five-piece group, all in their early 20's, has also already surpassed 75 million streams globally--including over 8 million views of their gorgeous, cinematic music videos--and has sold out sizable venues worldwide including London's Roundhouse, New York's Irving Plaza, and two nights at Los Angeles' Troubadour. They are set to return to North America in 2019 in support of Parcels, including festival performances at Coachella and Governors Ball and a headline tour that includes the NYC Irving Plaza sold out show, and sold out dates at Theatre Fairmount in Montreal and 7th St Entry in Minneapolis.
