London's V&A has announced details on the major new exhibition, DIVA. Opening in June, DIVA will be the first exhibition of its kind to celebrate the extraordinary power and creativity of iconic performers who have made their voices heard from the 19th century to today.

This spring DanceWest Fest, formerly Ignition Dance Festival, returns for the first time since 2018 with performances at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith (19 & 20 May) and Rose Theatre, Kingston (17 June).

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures today announced the first round of exhibition rotations, which are scheduled for the 2022–2023 season. These rotations further the museum’s mission to advance the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through dynamic and diverse exhibitions.

The Museum of Pop Culture is a leading-edge, nonprofit museum in Seattle, dedicated to the ideas and risk-taking that fuel contemporary pop culture. Currently on view are the touring exhibitions, Contact High: A Visual History of Hip-Hop and Heroes and Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume, along with a host of exhibitions covering science fiction, music, video game, and more.

The Academy Museum’s exhibitions, screenings, and public and educational programs are being developed with the expertise of Academy members—film artists and professionals who are leaders in their craft and industry areas.

A new online run of the Bush Theatre’s production Overflow will be presented by Bristol Old Vic from 6-8 May. Bristol theatre-maker and writer Travis Alabanza’s latest play was premiered and recorded at the Bush Theatre in Dec 2020, and stars Reece Lyons as Rosie.

The Museum of Pop Culture today announced the October opening of Heroes and Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume in partnership with the Walt Disney Archives. Through more than 70 original items including ball gowns, sorcerers' capes, military uniforms, tiaras, and of course glass slippers, the exhibition immerses visitors into the world of Disney and shows how our understanding of its iconic characters is shaped through the artistry and creativity of its costumes. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced the nominations for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2020.

It's midterms week at my first quarter of my senior year and I find myself reminiscing on my past three years. SCAD is very much a take it or leave it school. What I mean by that is SCAD has lots of events and extra opportunities to get more experience in your chosen field and hear from industry professionals. You can either take these opportunities and get the most out of your time at school or you can choose to not do any extra activities (and to be frank, miss out on some awesome things).

The 21st Costume Designers Guild Awards took place on Tuesday, February 19 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, celebrating excellence in film, television, and short form Costume Design as voted on by the Guild's membership. The CDG includes more than 1,000 Costume Designers and Illustrators working in motion pictures, television, commercials, music videos, and new media programs throughout the world. 

The EE British Academy Film Awards took place on Sunday 10 February at the Royal Albert Hall, London. The ceremony was hosted by Joanna Lumley and broadcast exclusively on BBC One and BBC One HD.

"The Favourite" was the favorite film of more than 2,500 users who voted for the 17th Annual Gold Derby Film Awards nominations. It scored 12 nominations including Best Picture, Best Director (Yorgos Lanthimos), Best Actress (Olivia Colman), Best Supporting Actress (Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz) and Best Ensemble. Last night, the Critics' Choice Awards were announced. Taking home the top prize of Best Picture was Roma. Also, in a surprising turn of events, both Lady Gaga and Glenn Close took home the award for Best Actress, for A Star is Born and The Wife, respectively.

The Costume Designers Guild have announced the nominees for the 21st annual CDGA. The awards will be presented on February 19 during the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton.

BAFTA has announced the nominations for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2019.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) announced today the nominees for the 24th Annual Critics' Choice Awards.  The winners will be revealed at the star-studded Critics' Choice Awards gala, broadcast live on The CW Network on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 7:00 – 10:00 pm ET (delayed PT).

The stars of Disney's 'Mary Poppins Returns' including Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Dick Van Dyke and director Ron Marshall attended the film's World Premiere at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood last night, November 29. Just in time for the holiday season, a special edition of "20/20" gives viewers an inside look at "Mary Poppins Returns," the sequel to the classic 1964 film starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. In the special, ABC News' Chris Connelly sits down for the first prime-time television interviews with Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda, stars of the sequel. They open up about both the responsibility and joy they feel about stepping into their characters and the iconic world of Mary Poppins, which hasn't been portrayed on the big screen in over 50 years. The hour also features an exclusive one-on-one conversation between Van Dyke and Miranda on "Mary Poppins Returns" and Van Dyke's excitement to share the Mary Poppins magic with a new generation. "Mary Poppins Returns: Behind the Magic - A Special Edition of 20/20" airs Thursday, Nov. 22 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST), on ABC. 

The 22nd Annual “Hollywood Film Awards” brought together Hollywood's elite to honor the year's most talked about, and highly anticipated, actors, actresses, films and those who help bring them to life.  The awards ceremony, celebrating its 22nd anniversary as the official launch of the awards season, was hosted by actress and comedian Awkwafina, and took place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.  In its 22-year history, more than 320 of the world's biggest stars and filmmakers have been highlighted at the “Hollywood Film Awards” and more than 130 of the honorees have gone on to garner Oscar nominations and/or wins.
