On November 16, TSquared Production Company will present an online reading of the hilariously dire Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. One of Tom Stoppard’s most beloved works, #RandGaredead tells the tale of Hamlet through the worm's eye view of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, two bewildered (and painfully minor) characters.
Looking for a little rest and time to herself, Betty rents a summer share at the beach. But Betty's luck turns to delicious lunacy when this sensible Everywoman gets drawn into the chaotic world of some very unsavory housemates - her friend Trudy who talks too much; the lewd, seminaked Buck, who tries to have sex with everyone; and Keith, a possible serial killer who hides in his room with a mysterious hat box. With sand between her toes, walking a thin line between sanity and survival, poor Betty will leave her summer vacation more terrorized than tan.
For Hudson Warehouse's 15th Season, they have announced The World Premiere of The Three Musketeers: 20 Years Later. This story is the follow-up to popular The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. While the first novel has been adapted for the stage and screen many times, no one has ever adapted the follow-up book, 20 Years Later, for the stage. The World Premiere presentation of this classic is a thrilling milestone for Hudson Warehouse.
The Onomatopoeia Theatre Company, a resident company of Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street), will present a faithful production of John Steinbeck's 'Of Mice and Men' off-off Broadway from April 7 to 29.
PNC Broadway in Louisville fills the Kentucky Center this week with the current tour of the 1993 Broadway hit Beauty and the Beast, the stage version of the 1991 Disney animated movie. The opening night audience included many family groups who clearly were fans of the movie.
For the second time in the past few years, the Disney favorite BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is in New Orleans. If you caught the show a couple of seasons ago (read my review here), you know that this is one of the most magical productions currently running! It's a classic story with a great message about seeing beyond a person's exterior and trying to get to know them for the person they are inside. Belle certainly sees beyond the Beast's exterior, and through her passionate care, helps the residents of his castle to reclaim their humanity.
First off, it feels superfluous for me to be reviewing this production, for the show is only running for two more days, so before you continue reading, buy your tickets to see it first.*
The French fairy tale made famous by Walt Disney Pictures in 1991 comes to life on the Dr. Phillips Center stage. Disney fans and musical theater fans alike enjoy the enchanting story, award-winning music and lighthearted humor. What better city to see BEAUTY AND THE BEAST than in Orlando home of the "Happiest Place on Earth'?
This past Wednesday and Thursday, South Bend was graced with the National Tour of "Beauty and the Beast" presented by NETworks. By far one of the best Disney animated films of its time, "Beauty and the Beast" presents the tale of a princess who is smart, confident, and doesn't need saved by Prince Charming. With a more mature theme and characters, Disney presented us with one of the best love stories of all time. "Beauty and the Beast" came roaring with beauty onto the Morris Performing Arts Center stage, and fans and audience members couldn't get enough of this stunning performance. I absolutely loved the revamped production of NETworks, "Beauty and the Beast" with direction by Rob Roth.
Disney's Beauty and the Beast opened Tuesday Night at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. True to the lyrics of "Beauty and the Beast", this production offered up the classic "tale as old as time".
