A Bronx Tale welcomes Adam Kaplan (Newsies, Show Boat at the New York Philharmonic, Kinky Boots National Tour) to the cast beginning Thursday, November 9, in the role of 'Calogero.'

B-Side Productions limited run of THE WILD PARTY, Michael John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe's 2000 Broadway musical, has been enjoying packed houses at the TBG Theatre, 312 West 36th Street in New York, since opening on September 6th.

Last night, Broadway legend Andre De Shields celebrated the opening night of B-Side Productions' The Wild Party, Michael John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe's 2000 Broadway musical, helmed by Associate Artistic Director Billy Bustamante, featuring music direction by Addison Frei, at the TBG Theatre in New York. Jasper Grant is Artistic Director of B-Side Productions. The full cast has been announced for B-Side Productions' return of Michael John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe's 2000 Broadway musical The Wild Party that will begin performances September 6th at the TBG Theatre for a run through September 17th.

The next installment of 'LC Originals: First Look,' at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center will feature Songwriter Adam Gwon and playwright/songwriter Michael Mitnick as they share scenes and songs from their newest (and never-before-seen) musical, an adaption of the 2001 indie film SCOTLAND, PA. It takes place tonight, May 9 at 7:30 pm. Admission is free.

All in all, one might chalk this one up as a 'miss,' but it's not a complete miss thanks to the talent involved.

AUBURN, N.Y-The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival, by special arrangement with Theatrical Rights Worldwide, proudly produces the world premiere of the new North American production of SATURDAYNIGHT FEVER.  Performances run from July 22 through through August 12. Based on Nik Cohn's 1975 article 'Tribal Rites of the new Saturday Night' and Norman Wexler's 1977 screenplay it inspired, this iconic time capsule centers around Tony Manero, a Brooklyn youth whose weekend is spent at the local dance hangout. There, he escapes into the admiration of the crowd, a growing relationship and the pulse of the beat that enables him to forget the realities of his life, his dead-end job and his gang of deadbeat friends. This new production delivers all the favorite tunes and dance sequences while bringing out the dimension and layers of the story and the landscape of such an iconic snapshot in American history.  Adapted for the stage by Robert Stigwood in collaboration with Bill Oakes, this new North American version features songs by The Bee Gees, is adapted for the stage by Sean Cercone and features additional music and lyrics by David Abbinanti.

The Classic Story On Stage, an unprecedented live experience exploding with heart-pounding music, passionate romance and sensational dancing, will play at Sacramento Community Center Theater from December 26, 2014 - January 4, 2015. Based on the tremendously popular classic 1987 film starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage is part of the Broadway Sacramento series presented by California Musical Theatre. DIRTY DANCING started its U.S. tour in September and has enjoyed great success as it has travelled. Sam Edgerly plays the role of the smarmy Robbie in this wonderful stage production.

If you're a fan of the film DIRTY DANCING then I have no doubt you'll find plenty to be excited about with the stage version that is currently playing at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. It's extremely faithful to the original movie, in fact it may be so much so that you might ask yourself what the point is, since you can always rent or purchase the DVD and watch it over and over to your heart's delight. But, despite that, I think it's a show that has a very broad appeal, and I can see it winning favor with both fans and newbies. And, there's just something special about seeing a show live that can't be, or rarely is, duplicated by Hollywood. That's why I find it especially odd that it's taken ten years for this show to go on a national tour of the USA since it's conception in 2004 in Australia.

The Fabulous Fox Theatre has announced that the national tour of Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage will play at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis today, October 21 - November 2, 2014.

Just in case Jillian Mueller needs a new dance partner on the DIRTY DANCING: THE MUSICAL tour, I think we've found one. While he's not as tall as Samuel Pergande, he sure has the moves. In a Facebook post, 'Laine Kristina' posted a video of her son Charlie reenacting every move of the iconic routine to '(I've Had) The Time of My Life.'

DIRTY DANCING - THE CLASSIC STORY ON STAGE will play at Jacksonville's Times-Union Center's Moran Theater from Tuesday, December 9th through Sunday, December 14th for eight performances only.
