B-Side Productions to Present Lachuisa's THE WILD PARTY
The full cast has been announced for B-Side Productions' return of Michael John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe's 2000 Broadway musical The Wild Party that will begin performances September 6th at the TBG Theatre for a run through September 17th.
The cast will be lead by Denis Lambert (Dr. Zhivago, A Chorus Line) and Jamey Hood (The Shaggs, Playwrights Horizons) and will be featuring Joan Barber, Jodi Bluestein, Greg Carter, Alison England, Sam Edgerly, Kyle Garvin, Bradley Gibson, Lauren Hooper, Robert Anthony Jones, Ivory McKay, Sarah Smithton, Ari Satchel and Adrienne Tang.
Associate Artistic Director Billy Bustamante will direct the piece, with music direction by Addison Frei. Jasper Grant is Artistic Director of B-Side Productions.
The musical, according to press notes: "The decadence of 1920's Manhattan is the setting for B-Side Productions' next offering, The Wild Party, where the gin and jazz is flowing and no one is exactly what they seem. Michael John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe's gripping Tony-nominated musical, based on the scandalous 1928 poem of the same name by Joseph Moncure, follows the story of a reckless relationship between a Vaudeville clown and a chorine that spirals into the depths of despair as the night unfolds."
