On August 26th at 9pm ET, a free virtual concert will be taking place, marking milestones in women's voting rights and inspiring people to vote, support free, fair and safe elections, and help increase the number of women in elected office.

Today the Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) announced confirmed presenters added to the 25th Anniversary Fall Festival, which will explore the theme of Journeys, Oct. 25-Nov. 9, 2014. They include New York Times op-ed columnist David Brooks, author and editor Roxane Gay, filmmaker Guy Maddin, jazz vocalist Rene Marie, comedian and Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! panelist Paula Poundstone, and former Brown University president Ruth Simmons. A complete schedule will be released in August at chicagohumanities.org/journeys.

FINDING YOUR ROOTS with Henry Louis Gates, Jr., the PBS series that explores race, culture and identity through the genealogy and genetics of some of America's best-known personalities, amps up the star power in its five remaining episodes.

The basic drive to discover who we are and where we come from is at the core of the new 10-part PBS series Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr., the 12th series from Professor Gates, the Alphonse Fletcher University Professor at Harvard University and director of the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research. Filmed on location across the United States, the series premieres nationally Sundays, March 25 - May 20 at 8 pm ET on PBS (check local listings). Lat night, Monday, February 1, 'Idol' alum and Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson belted out a rendition of 'I Will Always Love You,' in a special tribute to Whitney Houston at the BET Honors.
