Winner of the 15th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition Szymon Nehring Makes Carnegie Hall Debut

Winner of The 15th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in May 2017, 21 year-old pianist Szymon Nehring, gives his New York recital debut at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall with an intriguing program of works by Beethoven, Szymanowski and Chopin, presented by the American Friends of the Arthur Rubinstein International Music Society. The winner was also awarded Best Performer of a Chopin Piece and Junior Jury Prizes.

The Orchestra Now Opens New York Fall Season

The Orchestra Now (T?N) will open its New York City fall season with the first concert of its T?N at Rose Theater series at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall on October 15. The program of works by Rubinstein, Sibelius, and Daugherty will feature the distinguished maestro Neeme J rvi as guest conductor with pianist Anna Shelest and cellist Zuill Bailey.

92Y Launches Dance Video for Rosh Hashanah

In 2016, 92Y's Bronfman Center for Jewish Life commissioned A New Year, a song of hope and peace from songwriter Michael Ochs, as part of its #NewYearPrayer initiative. The song and accompanying video went viral, viewed by over 6 million people and shared by over 137,000 users.

Broadway Sessions had a very sweet season premiere this last week as we welcomed cast members from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Cellist Robert deMaine Opens CMSDetroit 2017-18 Season

Robert deMaine, the former DSO principal cellist who has gone on to distinguished himself as one of the finest and most versatile instrumentalists of his generation, makes his Chamber Music Society of Detroit series debut with a solo recital on Saturday, September 16 at 8:00 PM.  The concert takes place at Seligman Performing Arts Center in Beverly Hills.  Joined by pianist Adam Neiman, Robert deMaine will perform works by Saint-Saëns, Cassadó and Rachmaninoff.  In addition, deMaine and Neiman – both composers – will each perform a solo work they have composed for their instrument. 

ON REPEAT Exhibit Postpones Opening Due to Harvey

The exciting and innovative new art exhibition, On Repeat, presented by Linda Clarke and Gus Kopriva of Clarke & Associates and curated by renowned poet and art critic Raphael Rubenstein, will now open on October 7 due to complications from Hurricane Harvey.

Guy Maddin's THE GREEN FOG Headlines VIFF LIVE Lineup

VIFF today announced that the VIFF LIVE lineup will include a special presentation of The Green Fog - A San Francisco Fantasia, a multi-experiential, visual and sound collage by award-winning filmmaker and cultural iconoclast Guy Maddin in collaboration with brothers Evan and Galen Johnson (The Forbidden Room, Seances) that re-imagines Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo.

CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD to Open on Broadway This Spring

Producer Hal Luftig announced today that Mark Medoff's landmark play, Children of a Lesser God, will return to Broadway this spring for the first time since its Tony Award-winning premiere production.  Starring Joshua Jackson and introducing Lauren Ridloff, both making their Broadway debuts, and directed by Tony Award-winner Kenny Leon, Children of a Lesser God will begin performances at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street) on Thursday, March 22nd.  Opening night is set for Wednesday, April 11, 2018.
