Canadian Brass Quintent Brings the Sass of Brass to the MAC with CHRISTMAS TIME IS HERE

Internationally renowned quintet Canadian Brass brings their Grammy-winning music in two performances of "Christmas Time is Here" to the McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage, Saturday, Dec. 1, at 4 and 8 p.m. A free MAC Chat will take place one hour prior to curtain time for each performance.

PBS to Premiere JOHN LEGUIZAMO'S ROAD TO BROADWAY This Friday

John Leguizamo's Road to Broadway follows the always provocative Leguizamo as he prepares for his most challenging theatrical quest yet - cramming 3,000 years of Latino history into 90 minutes of stage time for his one man show. With extraordinary access to his creative process, the film traces the evolution of his latest success, Tony-nominated play Latin History for Morons, from its challenging premise through its triumphant debut. A special co-presentation of Great Performances and Latino Public Broadcasting's VOCES, John Leguizamo's Road to Broadway, directed by Ben DeJesus, premieres nationwide Friday, November 16 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). The film will be available for streaming on November 17 at pbs.org/gperf and on PBS apps.

Eddie Palmieri Announces New Album 'Mi Luz Mayor'

On December 7th the multi-Grammy Award winning pianist Eddie Palmieri will release Mi Luz Mayor, his second salsa album of the year on his newly launched imprint Uprising Music (through Ropeadope). Special guests on the album include Gilberto Santa Rosa, Herman Olivera, and Carlos Santana, who plays on the album's third track “Mi Congo.”

The SFLFF program includes award winning and critically acclaimed documentary, feature and short films from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Peru, Spain, Uruguay and the USA.
