Joining in the opening night festivities for The Last Days of Judas Iscariot at The Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa (66 East 4th Street): Ellen Burstyn, Co-President of the Actors Studio; Carla Hoke-Miller, Director of Theatrical Partnerships for the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment; Ruben Blades; Lee Grant; Michael Aranov (OSLO); Valda Setterfield; Patricia Bosworth; Margaret Colin; and many others. This limited Off-Broadway engagement continues through March 26th.   The Last Days of Judas Iscariot is enjoying an extended run at La Mama after being developed at the Actors Studio as part of the Theater & Social Justice program, using Actors Studio members.     

Brooklyn emcee Faiya is back with his latest music video. Featuring the seasoned veteran Edwin Vazquez, who has worked with legends like Paul Simon and Ruben Blades, Faiya gives us a raw look at the realities facing us in this day and age.

As previously announced, Everyman Theatre presents the Baltimore/DC Premiere of Los Otros, a timely new reworking of the musical from Tony Award nominees Michael John LaChiusa (music) and Ellen Fitzhugh (book and lyrics). Los Otros is currently in rehearsal and runs from March 22 through April 23, 2017.

Ballet Hispanico, the nation's leader in bringing communities together to celebrate Latino cultures through dance, announces its 2016/2017 International Tour to Cuba, Israel and Serbia, where the company will bring its signature brand of Latin-inspired contemporary dance.

Eduardo Vilaro, Chief Executive Officer and Artistic Director of Ballet Hispanico, will receive the NYSAFLT Culture through the Arts Award. Mr. Vilaro was nominated by Jenny Delfini and selected by the awards committee.  The award will be presented at the banquet by President of the New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers, Inc., Candace Blach, on October 21, 2016.

Ballet Hispanico, celebrating over 45 years of bringing individuals and communities together to celebrate and explore Latino cultures, announces the continuation of its new conversation series, Dialogos at the Arnhold Center, which explores the connections between the arts, social justice, and Latino culture.

In what has become an 'enjoyable tradition during the holiday season' (The New York Times), Ballet Hispanico in collaboration with the Apollo Theater makes its annual return to the Apollo stage, led by Eduardo Vilaro in his seventh season as Artistic Director.
