Bronx Museum Announces Expanded Line-Up For BxMA Ball Ft. Special Performance By Maluca And DJ Set By NAR

The Bronx Museum of the Arts is pleased to announce that NAR and Maluca have been added to the program lineup for the 2019 BxMA Ball, a new annual art and music-focused fundraiser that will take place at the Bronx Museum on Thursday, October 3rd. Featuring an intimate dinner and an after-party celebration, the evening will honor artist Mickalene Thomas and Bronx native, art consultant and activist Racquel Chevremont. Proceeds from the event will support the Bronx Museum in its mission to make art accessible to all through its free admission policy and public programs.

Paul Taylor Dance Company's Bettie De Jong To Receive The 2019 American Dance Festival Distinguished Teaching Award

The American Dance Festival (ADF) will award the 2019 Balasaraswati/Joy Anne Dewey Beinecke Endowed Chair for Distinguished Teaching to longtime Paul Taylor Dance Company rehearsal director Bettie de Jong. A ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2019 in Reynolds Industries Theater at the opening night performance of the Paul Taylor Dance Company.

Dance/NYC Announces Its Tenth Annual Symposium

Dance/NYC, New York City's leading organization dedicated to promoting the knowledge, appreciation, practice, and performance of dance in the metropolitan area, today announced content for its tenth annual Symposium happening Friday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Hunter College. Nominees Announced for 2018 Bessie Awards

Glasses clinked and cheers crowded the air as this year's 43 Bessie nominees were announced and celebrated today, July 11, at a cocktail party/press conference at Gibney 280, along with the winners of 2018 Juried Bessie Award and the 2018 NY Dance and Performance Award for Outstanding "Breakout" Choreographer.  (See attached for list of selected nominees)

TAP CITY, The NYC Tap Festival Returns Next Month

The American Tap Dance Foundation's TAP CITY, THE NEW YORK CITY TAP FESTIVAL will return for its 18th year from Saturday, July 7 through Friday, July 13 with local and international tap dance artists, master classes, a tap dance boat tour around Manhattan,Tap Dance Awards, Rhythm in Motion Concert Performance and "Tap it Out," a free outdoor tap dance event in the middle of Times Square. *Lineup below.
