Midsommer Flight to present staged reading of RICHARD III at Galway Arms April 23 and 30. Diverse, adaptive cast to be featured Midsommer Flight, the professional not-for-profit theatre company that has been bringing free Shakespeare to Chicago parks since 2012 will perform a free staged reading of RICHARD III on April 23 and 30 at Galway Arms Irish Bar and Restaurant at 2442 N Clark St. in Lincoln Park.

Midsommer Flight will expand programming in its 2018 season to include a free TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA in the parks this summer, special staged reading of RICHARD III in spring and the holiday perennial TWELFTH NIGHT. Midsommer Flight, the professional not-for-profit theatre company that has been bringing free Shakespeare to Chicago parks since 2012, will expand its programming from two to three productions for its 2018 season. Founding Artistic Director Beth Wolf made the announcement today.

Midsommer Flight, a professional not-for-profit theatre company that was one of five Finalists for this year's League of Chicago Theatres Emerging Theatre Award, is staging Shakespeare's Twelfth Night for the third consecutive holiday season, complete with its acclaimed musical score. The comedy is being performed in the Show House room at the Lincoln Park Conservatory, 2391 N. Stockton Drive, for three weekends - from November 30 December 17, 2017. The production is part of Mayor Rahm Emanuel's Night Out in the Parks initiative that provides world-class performances in Chicago's neighborhood parks throughout the year.

Midsommer Flight continues its fifth season of free Shakespeare programming, presenting a remount of last year's hit, a free indoor production of the comedy Twelfth Night, by William Shakespeare, directed by Midsommer Flight's Producing Artistic Director Beth Wolf and music directed by Midsommer Flight's Resident Music Director Elizabeth Rentfro in partnership with the Lincoln Park Conservatory. This early winter production of Twelfth Night is presented in the Show House room at the Lincoln Park Conservatory, 2391 N. Stockton Dr., now through December 18. Choices, Background, Diversity, Social Injustices and Female Strength are all explored with the Midwest premiere of new play Malefactions, by New York playwright Matt Minnicino. The show will open on October 20th at 7pm at Gorilla Tango Theatre Company 1919 N.
