Nominations for the 2010 Fred & Adele Astaire Awards were announced tonight by Emmy Award winner Richard Thomas.

Star of Broadway hit 'Race' Emmy award winning actor Richard Thomas will announce the nominees for the 28th Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards honoring excellence in dance and choreography on Stage and in Film at a by-invitation-only cocktail reception at famed celebrity watering hole Elaine's, 1703 Second Avenue (btw 88th and 89th Streets), Monday, May 3rd 2010, 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Kenny Ortega will be awarded the Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award on June 7th when the Fred and Adele Astaire Awards are presented in a ceremony at the Gerald Lynch Theatre at John Jay College. The ceremony will also include performances by Robin Cofer and Ronald K. Brown's Evidence Dance Company, there will also be a spercial tribute to Ortega.

On Tuesday, November 11, 2009, Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley opened their home to a group of prominent New York philanthropists for a cocktail party in support of The Actors Fund Special Campaign Responding to Essential and Evolving Needs.

The event was a special toast to nine time Tony award winner Tommy Tune who will receive the group's Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Brooke Shields at the awards gala benefiting The Auditory Oral School of New York.

Scores of the brightest lights on stage and screen will turn out in red carpet finery for a celebration of classic Hollywood, Hooray for Hollywood honoring the legendary Oscar winner Patricia Neal, Smith Barney's Shirl Penney and The Count and Countess de Lesseps, Stage 6 at Steiner Film Studios, 15 Washington Avenue at the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard. The gala evening is slated for November 1, with all proceeds going to The Auditory Oral School of New York, a non profit organization which specializes in teaching deaf and hard of hearing children to listen, talk, think and socialize.
