Photo Flash: First Look at Epic Theatre Company's BARBECUE

Epic Theatre Company is throwing a barbecue! Last October, the theater presented the Rhode Island premiere of Robert O'Hara's 'Bootycandy.' Next month, Epic will be premiering another ingenious work by Mr. O'Hara-the biting and brilliant 'Barbecue.' For this production, Epic will be using its brand new outdoor space at 50 Rolfe to create an immersive experience that's going to put the audience right in the middle of one big family feud. Ken Urban's A GUIDE FOR THE HOMESICK to Play Huntington This Fall

The Huntington Theatre Company presents a provocative new drama A Guide for the Homesick, by Huntington Playwriting Fellow Ken Urban and directed by Tony Award nominee Colman Domingo (Dragon King in Journey to the West and Jim in Well at the Huntington, Mr. Bones in The Scottsboro Boys on Broadway, and Victor Strand in AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead").

OSF Commission ROE Wins PEN Literary Award

Roe, a riveting drama by Lisa Loomer about central figures in the American abortion rights debate that debuted at OSF in April 2016, is the winner of The PEN Center USA 2017 Literary Award for Drama.

Trustus Theatre kicks off Season 33: EYES OPEN with Robert O'Hara's Barbecue on the Thigpen Main Stage this September. Leading off with an intervention, not-so-skillfully masquerading as a family get together in the local park, Barbecue brings together a family, each with their own form of addiction, trying to wrangle the most addicted sister into a rehabilitation facility. Max Posner's THE TREASURER Begins Tonight at Playwrights Horizons

Previews begin tonight, September 6, at 8PM for the Playwrights Horizons world premiere production of The Treasurer, a new play by Max Posner (Judy) and directed by three-time Lortel Award winner David Cromer (The Band's Visit, Our Town, Adding Machine). Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons, the play is the second production of the theater company's 2017/2018 Season.
