Winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, THE BOOK OF MORMON has broken the house record in Ottawa for the week ending April 30, 2017 at the National Arts Centre grossing $1,587,099 CAD for a standard 8-performance week.  

THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, is pleased to announce a lottery ticket policy for the National Tour, which begins May 3, 2017 at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls and plays a limited one week engagement through May 7, 2017. In Sioux Falls, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the box office, making a limited number of tickets available at $25 apiece. Lottery tickets will be available for the following performances: May 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 at 7:30 p.m.; and May 6 and 7 at 2 p.m.

Award winners Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez will sing Broadway melodies to support musical theatre scholarships at the 3rd annual Brooklyn Children's Theatre's SPRING SING on Monday, April 24, 2017. Kristen, an Oscar and Grammy winner, co-wrote Broadway's first a capella show, In Transit. Bobby, co-creator of Book of Mornon and Avenue Q, is the youngest ever person to win an EGOT - Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards. The pair are currently adapting their hit film Frozen for Broadway release in Spring, 2018.

Caissie Levy will star as Elsa and Patti Murin will star as Anna in Disney's new Broadway musical Frozen, opening at the St. James Theatre in spring 2018. Also joining the principal cast are Jelani Alladin as Kristoff, Greg Hildreth as Olaf, John Riddle as Hans and Robert Creighton as Duke of Weselton.

Select guests at Playhouse on Park theater this past Sunday night were the first to learn of the 2017-2018 Mainstage Series. Joined by Executive Director Tracy Flater and Co-Artistic Director Darlene Zoller, Co-Artistic Director Sean Harris spoke from the stage with fervor: 'We are passionate about these pieces, and that resonates [with] the cast, crew, and design team. Music Theatre Kansas City (MTKC) is well known around town for offering steady, top-quality musicals performed by the city's best youth talent. After returning to his alma mater for an afternoon to teach a choreography masterclass, I was lucky enough to sit down with the performer and hear about his experience being on tour with such a big Broadway hit.

With shirts clean and pressed, and haircuts precise, the cast of The Book of Mormon tapped back into my heart as they did when the tour stopped in Pittsburgh four years ago. Since then, much has changed, both with the cast and with the societal conscience, but one thing remains the same: the show is hysterical and offensive in every way.
