The Jeff Awards announced, via a special video presentation, a total of 127 nominations in 26 categories for the 44th Annual Non-Equity Jeff Awards for productions that opened between April 1, 2016, and March 31, 2017.  Hosting the video presentation were Alexis Roston and Lillian Castillo, who will be this year's Mistresses of Ceremonies at the Awards event on June 5 at The Athenaeum.

The town's major employers are a cattle slaughterhouse and a penitentiary where lethal injection is administered. Whether they work at the slaughterhouse, play preacher or guard to death row inmates, or merely offer a bed and a hot meal to those visiting the prison, each resident of Chagrin Falls makes their living off of death and captivity.

Broadway In Chicago and Emerald City Theatre are pleased to announce A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS by Charles M. Schulz returns to the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E. Chestnut) November 11, 2016 through January 8, 2017, after playing to sold-out houses during the 2015 holiday season. Based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson and adapted for the stage by Eric Schaefferby special arrangement with Arthur Whitelaw and Ruby Persson,  this newly-staged production of A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS will be directed by Ann Filmer.

Broken Nose Theatre (BNT) continues their first season as a Pay-What-You-Can organization with the Chicago Premiere of HUMAN TERRAIN, written by recent PEN/Laura Pels International Foundation Award winner Jennifer Blackmer and directed by BNT Artistic Director Benjamin Brownson. A new series of professionally shot web videos promoting Chicago's neighborhood theater scene is debuting online today, the work of a new non-profit named Friends of Chicago's Neighborhood Theatres. The group's plan is to release one You Tube video every two to three months as part of a new viral marketing campaign promoting Chicago theater titled 'A City of Stories.'

] Step Up Productions is pleased to announce its full 2015-16 Season, kicking off this fall with Neil Simon's Tony Award-winning romantic comedy BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, directed by Michael Driscoll. Then, Step Up rings in the holidays with its third annual HOLIDAZE, a hilarious and heartfelt collection of original, holiday-themed short works by some of the industry's most talented young playwrights. The season concludes next spring with Noel Coward's comedy of manners PRIVATE LIVES, directed by Ian Frank. Chicago Dramatists invites Chicago to celebrate its first 35 years and play a role in the future of American theatre by joining the 'Drive for 35' and the annual Blue Moon Gala. The goal of the online 'Drive for 35' is to raise $10,000 before the Blue Moon Gala, which takes place tonight, June 6 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Zolla-Lieberman Gallery, 325 W. Huron, Chicago.
