The Town Hall, New York City's landmark concert venue, concluded its acclaimed Broadway 3rd Annual Summer Broadway Festival with All Singin' All Dancin' on Monday, July 27th at 8PM.
On Monday, Broadway's best singers gathered on the Town Hall stage to perform some of the funniest, most dramatic, most rousing and most poignant showstoppers from musicals. Ably directed by Scott Thompdon and musically guided by musical director Fred Barton (who must surely have an aging portrait locked in at attic somewhere, and who performed mere days after sustaining injuries in a car accident), the evening represented songs ranging from jazz standards by Eubie Blake to this year's Tony winner for best score, Next to Normal.

Jim Caruso's Cast Party, in association with Amy Birnbaum, is proud to announce that the Broadway community will pay musical tribute to the late, great Michael Jackson in DON'T STOP TILL YOU GET ENOUGH, on Monday, October 19 at 7pm at Birdland. In contrast to the earlier shows of the ninth Broadway by the Year season, Scott Siegel chose a year with several hit shows?and hit shows?as the season finale at Town Hall last week. 1970 is probably best known for Company and Applause, but this was also the year of Purlie and The Rothschilds, as well as one of Richard Rodgers? final musicals, Two by Two. To his credit, Siegel gave every show ample opportunity to prove its worth, offering a wide spectrum of songs and styles, nicely accompanied (as always) by Ross Patterson and his Little Big Band.

The 54th Annual Drama Desk Awards were held tonight, Sunday, May 17, 2009 in the LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center. Drama Desk nominees received their official Nomination Certificates at a cocktail reception on Friday, May 1st at Il Bastardo restaurant, 191 Seventh Avenue (between 21st and 22nd Streets).
