Cappella Records will release Frank La Rocca’s Mass of the Americas (Misa de las Américas), performed by the Benedict XVI Institute’s Choir and Orchestra, directed by renowned international conductor Richard Sparks on September 23, 2022.
Los Angeles Opera presented the premiere performance of HANSEL AND GRETEL. The opera's original libretto is steeped in nineteenth century culture but Richard Sparks' translation, originally for the 2006 LA presentation of the opera, brought the text up to date and made it most appealing to contemporary children.
In 1978 Richard Sparks wrote the Schoolmaster Sketch and gave it to Rowan Atkinson, who premiered it in Having a Ball at Hampstead Theatre. A few months later Rowan performed the sketch in The Secret Policeman's Ball.
