MARY POPPINS Breaks GTA Records; Extends Through November 21

The chill of autumn is slowly leaving for the cold of winter, but record numbers of north Georgia theatre goers are gathering around the warm glow of the Gainesville Theatre Alliance's production of MARY POPPINS. GTA, now in its 36th season, opened to sellout crowds for the stage production of P.L. Travers' classic story. The production has been extended for a third week of performances, now running through Nov. 21, and with a week and a half to go, MARY POPPINS has already broken GTA ticket and revenue records.

A brand new production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic THE SOUND OF MUSIC launched its national tour at the Center Theatre Group / Ahmanson Theatre last night, September 30 at 8 p.m. Directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, the production closes in Los Angeles on October 31, 2015, and will then tour North America for multiple seasons, playing multi-week and week-long engagements. On Sunday September 6 at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal, Kritzerland Records celebrated its 61st show and 5 year anniversary. On hand were affable host Kritzerland producer Bruce Kimmel, musical director extraordinaire John Boswell at the piano and a bevy of super talented singers who included: Brennley Brown, Hadley Miller, Jenna Lea Rosen, Sami Staitman, Robert Yacko, Damon Kirsche, Darcie Roberts, Sharon McNight, Jason Graae, and special guest star Tony Award winner Sammy Williams. What a cast and what a fabulous evening of entertainment entitled The Songs That Got Away IV!
The Cape Playhouse to Continue 89th Season with MY FAIR LADY

The oldest professional summer theater in America, The Cape Playhouse, presents its first-ever Playhouse production of Lerner and Loewe's triumph - My Fair Lady - July 28 through August 8. Tony Nominee Hunter Foster makes his Cape Playhouse directorial debut with the unforgettable story of Eliza Doolittle, the Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from Professor Henry Higgins so that she can pass as a proper lady. Broadway's Ashley Brown and Jeff McCarthy star in what is generally hailed as a masterpiece of musical theatre. Set against the gorgeous scenery and costumes of Edwardian England, My Fair Lady is filled with some of the greatest songs in musical theater history: Wouldn't It Be Loverly?, With a Little Bit of Luck, The Rain in Spain, I Could Have Danced All Night, On the Street Where You Live, Get Me to the Church on Time and I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face. Lorin Latarro choreographs and Nick DeGregorio is the musical director.

Disney steht seit jeher als Synonym für familientaugliche Unterhaltung, aus abendfüllenden Trickfilmen, aus denen ihre Figuren ebenso unsterblich und beliebt sind wie die darin enthaltenen Filmmeldodien.
