As the Broadway production of Mary Poppins comes to a close, we asked current and original principle cast members, as well as current cast members who have been with the show since day one, to share with us some memories and tell us what being a part of the magic has meant to them. Janet MacEwan, who is the current 'Bird Lady,' shared:

In ANYTHING GOES, when the S.S. American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention head out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set a course to true love...proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail.
The musical adaptation of the 1967 animated feature film, THE JUNGLE BOOK, is a sheer delight, perhaps best viewed through the eyes of a child. And, the first production I ever took my young son to see was this same show a few years back. But, he was so small he didn't really remember it that well. So, the opportunity to see it again afforded me the perfect chance to reacquainted him with its many charms. Stages St. Louis's presentation didn't disappoint, providing a crisply paced production that fully captured my son's attention and imagination once again.
The Sherman Brothers, Richard and Robert, the musical geniuses behind "Mary Poppins," "Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang" and "Winnie the Pooh" may have another theatrical success on the way. Prior to Robert's death in March of this year, the brothers composed the words and music for "MerryGoRound," a new Broadway musical which, originally scheduled for Spring 2011, is now anticipating its New York debut later this year, 2013, with producer Jack Stein and director Andrew Belling. Watch the video below for an interview with Richard Sherman about how MerryGoRound was created, and more!
The Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL), the premier educational, advocacy and networking organization for professional music creators for visual media, has announced a major membership drive for New York tri-state area composers, lyricists, songwriters and other professionals; this includes a special membership offer for new members until June 30th.
January at Vitello's was a terrific way to start the new year. It was so successful that we've decided to bring back more songs recorded by our beloved Michelle Nicastro, this time from her album Reel Imagination, songs from classic family films like The Wizard of Oz, The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T, The Muppet Movie, Peter Pan, The Court Jester, Willy Wonka, and more. And we're thrilled to have our very special guest for the evening, the brilliant composer Richard Sherman, who will perform a rare, cut song from one of the greatest family films ever made, Walt Disney's Mary Poppins. It will be an evening filled with great songs that will make you smile, laugh, and warm your heart.

Triple-threat Nicolas Dromard seems to be on a roll. Already a burgeoning performer since his days as a toddler in his native Ontario, Canada, the charming actor-singer-dancer is currently wowing audiences across the country playing Bert in the National Tour of MARY POPPINS. The stage version of the beloved Disney film is now in the middle of its four-week extended engagement in Orange County, California at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through August 7. Before arriving in the O.C., Dromard--while literally driving down the coast of California on the 4th of July--chatted for a bit with BroadwayWorld's Michael Lawrence Quintos about his early theater history, his influences, and how he morphed quickly from Chimney Sweep to WICKED's Winkie Prince then back again.
