The Tank - the Manhattan-based non-profit arts presenter, located at 151 West 46th Street, 8th floor - is pleased to announce its third season of its flagship theatre program Flint & Tinder, the curated series of exciting new independent theater presented in the heart of Manhattan's theater district. Swandive Theatre returns to the backyard this summer for the 5th annual Veggie Stock Theatre! The summer play-­reading series, taking place over four Saturdays (Aug 23rd, 30th & Sept 6th, 13th), invites patrons, friends, and neighbors into the Corcoran backyard for a potluck, a play reading, and a discussion. Read by a talented group of professional Minneapolis actors, each of the scripts tell stories that explore magic in the everyday, a hallmark of Swandive Theatre productions. Veggie Stock Theatre prompts conversations with members of Swandive's audience to find out first-­?hand what they enjoy and what they might want to see as a fully staged production sometime in the future.

CAPS LOCK THEATRE presents THE SEX WITH ROBOTS FESTIVAL, a series of short plays about sex with robots, written by a formidable group of playwrights: Micheline Auger, Danny Bowes, J. Julian Christopher, Richard Lovejoy & Eric Meyer, Mariah MacCarthy, Mac Rogers, Leah Nanako Winkler and Natalie Zutter, with a robot sex song cycle by Nat Cassidy. The festival is set for today, November 5-10 at the Secret Theatre in Long Island City.

The Brick is extending its annual Summer Theme Festival Series with DEMOCRACY, a summer theater festival of the people, by the people, and for the people. Throughout the month of June, 8 candidates will campaign against each other through a series of Public Appearances (i.e., performances) for the title of President of The Brick. The elected official will be given reign over The Brick for two weeks during January 2013, and will be in charge of curating all programming during this time period. The Presidential election will be held live at The Brick (575 Metropolitan Ave | Brooklyn NY) on Sunday, July 1. All voters must cast their ballot in person.
