Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center will present the Tony Award winning musical IN THE HEIGHTS from April 6 – May 5, 2024 at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, 3050 East Los Angeles Avenue in Simi Valley.

Cupcake Theater Company’s first full-length production post-pandemic, Tony Award-winning AVENUE Q will open January 8, 2022. Following a closure that lasted over a year, the Cupcake Theater Company is returning to the newly renovated Hollywood Majestic Theater in Hollywood with AVENUE Q. AVENUE Q was awarded three Tony Awards in 2004 for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book of a Musical.

The west coast premiere of THE VIEW UPSTAIRS bursts with a high-energied hodge-podge of some great vocals, charming performances and wonderfully executed choreography. Playwright Max Vernon, through the eyes of a present-day electronically dependent fashion designer, retells the stories of victims of a fire by arson at the gay bar UpStairs Lounge in New Orleans back in June of 1973.

A LITTLE NEW MUSIC returned to the historic Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood on Monday, August 21st with its fifteenth concert featuring emerging musical theatre artists. Co-hosts, Tony Award winner Marisa Jaret Winokur (HAIRSPRAY) and Ryan O'Connor ('BIG LITTLE LIES,' 'LADYWATCH' podcast), delighted the audience with context and humor between numbers. Gregory Nabours and the dynamic ALNM band (Eric McCann, Emily Rosenfield, and Greg Sadler) provided excellent backup to the singers performing the next generation of musical theatre songs. 

On Monday, August 21 at 8:30pm, A Little New Music will present its 15th concert collaboration with an eclectic array of artists performing original musical theatre songs at the historic Catalina Jazz Club. Those who attend A Little New Music will be some of the first to discover new pieces of musical theatre that could potentially become Broadway hits. Directed by Nicolas Womack, and choreographed by Keenon Hooks, this Tony Award-nominated musical was adapted for Broadway from the hit film of the same title and explores the cutthroat world of competitive cheerleading and the fierce rivalries of high school politics and romance.

And what happens when the student cannot keep up and drops out and gets romantically involved with someone her parents don't think is good enough? And what happens when a neighborhood is challenged by urban renewal and its flavor is about to be lost? Can it be saved when local shop owners must leave their beloved neighborhood when rents rise?
