Wilko Johnson To Release First Album Of New Material In 30 Years, BLOW YOUR MIND

'I'm supposed to be dead!' Canvey Island's Dr Feelgood guitar legend Wilko Johnson was diagnosed in late 2012 with terminal pancreatic cancer. However, despite the doctors' worst predictions, he continued to perform with a new lust for life and even made the most successful album of his career 'Going Back Home' with the legendary Roger Daltrey.

Vinny Peculiar To Release RETURN OF THE NATIVE May 4

UK based singer-songwriter Vinny Peculiar [aka Alan Wilkes] has been variously described as “an under-sung national treasure” (UNCUT Magazine) and “the missing link between Jarvis Cocker and Roger McGough” His various bands have included ex members of The Smiths, Oasis, The Fall & Aztec Camera and he's collaborated with Bill Drummond and Luke Haines along the way. Maurice Hines to Emcee 2018 Arena Stage Gala with Mary McBride as Headliner

Arena Stage Artistic Director Molly Smith and Executive Director Edgar Dobie are pleased to announce that Broadway legend Maurice Hines will serve as the Master of Ceremonies and international touring artist and global humanitarian Mary McBride will headline the 2018 Arena Stage Gala honoring Mayor Muriel Bowser on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Mead Center for American Theater (1101 Sixth St., SW). As previously announced, the Gala features the presentation of the third annual Beth Newburger Schwartz Award to D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, and will recognize Jessica Stafford Davis as an Emerging Leader. The Gala is helmed by event chairs and Arena Stage Trustees Lavern Chatman and Maggie FitzPatrick.

Pioneering disabled-led theatre company Graeae has been a proud standard-bearer for protest and disability rights for many years. In conjunction with the final tour of their smash hit musical Reasons to be Cheerful, set in 1979 Thatcher's Britain, Blockheads Chaz Jankel, Derek Hussey and cast member John Kelly have written a protest song for 2017, 'If It Can't Be Right Then It Must Be Wrong'.

Ron Sexsmith & the TSO Announce Free Concert for Canada Day

As part of the City of Toronto's Canada Days-a citywide celebration for Canada's 150th birthday-the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) and guest conductor Jean-Claude Picard join forces with Canadian singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith on Saturday, July 1 at 9:45pm. The free concert, taking place at Nathan Phillips Square, also features Canadian folk-pop singer-songwriter Rose Cousins as a special guest. Sexsmith will perform some of his greatest hits, including songs from his 13th album, The Last Rider (Warner Music). The TSO is thrilled to be part of the festivities, which run June 30-July 3 at Nathan Phillips Square, and July 1 in Scarborough, North York, and Etobicoke.

HAMLET to Transfer to Harold Pinter Theatre Following Sold-Out Run at Almeida Theatre

Olivier Award-winning director, Robert Icke's (Mary Stuart, The Red Barn, Uncle Vanya, Oresteia, Mr Burns and 1984), ground-breaking and electrifying production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, starring BAFTA award-winner Andrew Scott (Moriarty in BBC's Sherlock, Denial, Spectre, Design For Living and Cock) in the title role, will transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre, following a critically acclaimed and sell out run at the Almeida Theatre.
