The month of May means spring and warm weather but it also means that the current season at Centenary Stage is almost near the end. Audiences can get their fill of theatre before a brief summer break with everything from Shakespeare to a festival of musicals, and a little stage time by CSC's new favorite Moose for the kids in between.

As audiences begin to thaw out from the winter frost, Centenary Stage Company welcomes all to the theater. This March, CSC has a witty Irish play that helps audiences get in the St. Patrick's Day spirit, a CSC premiere performance for families of a popular kids book brought to life, a one-woman theatre extravaganza from a legendary Broadway star, a free staged reading presented by two theater greats talking about another theater great-Anton Chekov, and a weekend full of Blues music with world-renowned musical artists like Johnny Winter.

Charles J. Bright, 74, a co-founder of American Players Theatre in Spring Green, WI and one of the standard bearers of the classical theatre movement in America, died May 17, 2011 of complications following an 18 month battle with bladder cancer at his home in Great Meadow, NJ, according to classical theatre actor Randall Duk Kim and stage director Anne Occhiogrosso, Bright's life partners of four decades.

A visitor walking into the Avatar recording studio in New York City last May was greeted with the most stirring rendition of Stephen Sondheim's 'Too Many Mornings'. The voices of Marin Mazzie and her husband, Jason Danieley, were so exceptionally suited to the music that a new dimension was added to the material.
