The Theatre School at DePaul to Present VIGILS, 11/7-16

The Theatre School at DePaul University is pleased to present Vigils by Noah Haidle in the Sondra and Denis Healy Theatre, located in The Theatre School building at Racine and Fullerton. The production is directed by Andrew Peters, MFA Directing candidate, Class of 2016. Opening Night is Friday, November 7, and the production will run through Sunday November 16, 2014.

Tony Winner Duncan Sheik Coming to City Winery Chicago, 10/30

Grammy and Tony Award-winning songwriter and composer Duncan Sheik makes his long-awaited return to singing stand-alone pop songs in his City Winery debut. Sheik has released seven albums, and his song "Barely Breathing" spent a record 55 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.

Theatre School at DePaul University Presents IN THE HEIGHTS, Now thru 10/12

The Theatre School at DePaul University will present IN THE HEIGHTS, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, and conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda, in the Fullerton Stage Theatre in the new Theatre School building located at Racine and Fullerton. The production, directed by Lisa Portes, premieres on Friday, October 3, and runs through Sunday, October 12, 2014. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are tonight, October 1 and tomorrow, October 2, at 7:30 PM.

Overture & Marcus Center to Expand Tommy Awards Program

Overture Center for the Arts and Marcus Center for the Performing Arts today announced they would partner to expand the geographical reach of Overture's Tommy Awards program, allowing schools from Milwaukee, Kenosha and Racine Counties to participate.

Winifred Haun & Dancers to Kick Off Fall 2014 Open Rehearsals, 10/5

Winifred Haun & Dancers will present the first of three Fall 2014 Open Rehearsals on Sunday, October 5 at Hubbard St. Dance Center. This Fall Open Rehearsal will present three works-in-progress, one each by choreographers Winifred Haun, Lizzie Leopold of the Leopold Group and Lucy Riner of RE/Dance. This event will also include a discussion about each artist's dance making process and audience members will have a chance to respond, comment and give feedback on the new works.

WAM Theatre's Change Makers to Host Benefit and Celebration 8/24

WAM (Women's Action Movement) Theatre's artistic director Kristen van Ginhoven has announced that legendary playwright Marsha Norman and WAMC Northeast Public Radio producer Sarah LaDuke will co-host Change Makers, WAM Theatre's fifth season celebration and benefit at The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington on August 24 at 7 pm. This dynamic duo takes the place of actor Jayne Atkinson, who needed to bow out to attend the Emmy Awards In Los Angeles.
