Paper Mill Playhouse's spring musical, Pump Boys and Dinettes, begins tonight, featuring James Barry (Jim), Gabe Bowling (Jackson),Julie Foldesi (Prudie), Jason Ostrowski (L.M.), Alysha Umphress ( Rhetta) and Sam Weber (Eddie). Pump Boys and Dinettes is conceived and written by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann. Pump Boys and Dinettes will be directed by John Foley with choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter. Pump Boys and Dinettes will run eight times a week at the Millburn, New Jersey, theater through May 1, 2016. The official press opening night is Sunday, April 10, at 7:00pm. TUTS Underground just announced the full cast for the world premiere of THE SWEET POTATO QUEENS, beginning next month in Houston.

TIME Magazine's #1 Show of the Year, the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of MATILDA THE MUSICAL, is coming to Canada!  Produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Dodgers, MATILDA THE MUSICAL is presented in Toronto by David Mirvish as part of his 2015-16 Main Subscription Season. Performances begin Tuesday July 5 at the Ed Mirvish Theatre, with the media night scheduled for Thursday, July 7 at 6:45 PM.  Tickets will be available for performances until September 4, 2016.

Happy Birthday, Debra Monk! The Tony Award winner made her Broadway debut in PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES in 1982. Her Broadway credits include PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES, PRELUDE TO A KISS, NICK & NORA, REDWOOD CURTAIN, PICNIC, COMPANY, CHICAGO, STEAL PIER, AH, WILDERNESS!, THOU SHALT NOT, RECKLESS, CHILDREN AND ART, and CURTAINS. Monk won the Tony Award in 1993 for REDWOOD CURTAIN and was nominated for Tony Awards in 1997 and 2007 for both STEEL PIER and CURTAINS.
