Encompass New Opera Theatre will present the world premiere of Anna Christie with music by Edward Thomas set to a libretto by Joseph Masteroff, beginning on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 8pm, running through Sunday, October 21, 2018, at the Baruch Performing Arts Center (at 55 Lexington Avenue, entrance on 25th Street, between Lexington and Third Avenues).

Ninety-two-year-old Ballard is known for a varied career as an actress and singer, spanning over seventy years. The film, which is presented by Jim Dandy Films, is intended to be a celebration of this incredible actress' life and career. Opera Australia Artistic Director Lyndon Terracini, Australian impresario John Frost and leading UK theatre producer David Ian today announced the 18 young performers who have been cast in the upcoming production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's EVITA at the Sydney Opera House from September. Three sets of six children will alternate in ensemble roles.

This beloved musical, set in Austria in 1938, follows novice Maria Rainer who becomes the governess for the von Trapp family, capturing the hearts of the seven children and their father, a widowed naval captain. As the Nazis occupy Austria, the family is forced make decisions which forever change their lives, fleeing their home in pursuit of freedom. Director Milissa Carey, music director William Liberatore, and choreographers Brett and C.J. Blankenship breathe new life into this classic tale of hope, love, and family. National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) today announced that the highly anticipated American premiere of the Yiddish language Fiddler on the Roof, which began preview PERFORMANCES Off Broadway at the Museum of Jewish Heritage last week, will extend its run for an additional week through September 2 due to demand for tickets. The Press Opening takes place Sunday, July 15 and a VIP gala performance on Monday, July 16. Helmed by Academy Award and Tony Award winner Joel Grey, the acclaimed musical is being presented now for an 9-week limited engagement through September 2.
