The play's historical characters are all men but they're scripted to be played by women.

The fifth and final week of Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival concludes the celebration of its milestone 50th anniversary season with seven performances, including the revival of Mark Morris's triumphant and acclaimed Mozart Dances as well as three unique contemporary music events featuring the International Contemporary Ensemble.

Novato Theater Company Begins its 2016-2017 season with the Tennessee Williams classic, A Streetcar Named Desire, September 9-October 2 at the NTC Playhouse, 5420 Nave Dr., Novato 94949.  The play is directed by Michael Barr and features Gregory Crane, Amber Collins Crane, and Emily Radosevich.  It is produced for NTC by Kim Bromley and Janelle Ponte.

Chautauqua Theater Company (CTC) continues its significant commitment to new play development under the co-leadership of Artistic Directors Vivienne Benesch and Andrew Borba with Signature Staged Readings of The Glow Overhead written by Nick Gandiello, and directed by Sherri Eden Barber, running August 3 - 5 as part of the 2016 season's New Play Workshop. The Glow Overhead plays on the Bratton Theater stage at the Chautauqua Institution.

Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG) has just announced its sold-out production of Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical Fiorello! will transfer to Off-Broadway's East 13th Street Theater (136 East 13th Street, between 3rd and 4th Avenues), home of Classic Stage Company.

MEN ON BOATS, the critically-acclaimed comedy which premiered at Clubbed Thumb's 2015 Summerworks Festival, returns this summer in a co-production by Clubbed Thumb and Playwrights Horizons. Written by Jaclyn Backhaus and directed by American Theater Company Artistic Director Will Davis, MEN ON BOATS moves uptown to Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street) for a four-week limited engagement now through Sunday, August 14. Shattered Globe Theatre will conclude its 2016-17 Season with the Chicago premiere of Sarah Ruhl's FOR PETER PAN ON HER 70th BIRTHDAY, written for her mother Kathleen, a Chicago actress who played Peter Pan onstage as a teenager. Directed by Jessica Thebus, the production will feature Kathleen Ruhl, surrounded by the Shattered Globe Ensemble. FOR PETER PAN ON HER 70th BIRTHDAY will play April 6 - May 20, 2017 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago. 

International Women Artists' Salon today announced an evening of revolution showcasing artists from the worlds of music, poetry, theater, painting, dance, film, and animation, premiering Saturday, August 20 at 7:30PM at Dixon Place, located at 161 Chrystie Street. Admission to the hour-long event is free.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) just announced full casting for the first two shows of the 2016/17 season, NAT TURNER IN JERUSALEM and OTHELLO.

The full cast has been announced for B-Side Productions' return of Michael John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe's 2000 Broadway musical The Wild Party that will begin performances September 6th at the TBG Theatre for a run through September 17th.
