The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team of the West Coast premiere of OCTOBER SKY, which will blast off the Globe's 2016-2017 Season with a tale of boys, rockets, and big dreams.

American Theater Company (ATC) has restructured its 2016-17 Season and will present three of four previously announced plays, with an updated production schedule.

Producers Bob Israel and Larry Hirschhorn announced today that Garry Marshall's iconic movie THE FLAMINGO KID is being developed as a musical, with sights set on a Spring, 2018 Broadway opening. 

Broadway, television and film star Justin Guarini returns to Bucks County Playhouse when he joins Tony nominee Euan Morton, Barrymore winner Michele Ragusa and newcomer Aidan J. Lawrence at Bucks County Playhouse for 'Cake Off,' a new musical by Sheri Wilner, Julia Jordan and Adam Gwon. 'Cake Off', directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, will preview on August 19, with opening night August 20 and run through September 10, 2016.

The Play Company (PlayCo), led by Founding Producer Kate Loewald and Executive Producer Lauren Weigel, is pleased present the New York premiere of Christopher Chen's Caught (August 17-September 17), the final production in the company's 15th Anniversary Season.

The Playwrights Realm, led by Founding Artistic Director Katherine Kovner and Producing Director Roberta Pereira, has announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of Sarah Delappe's THE WOLVES.

Playwrights Horizons will present AUBERGINE- the New York premiere of a new play by Susan Smith Blackburn Prize winner Julia Cho (BFE at PH, The Language Archive, The Piano Teacher, Durango, The Architecture of Loss), directed by Kate Whoriskey (Fabulation, Inked Baby at PH; Ruined; Her Requiem).

Actor/performer April Matthis is the recipient of the 2016 Ruth Maleczech Award, created last year to honor the memory of the legendary and beloved downtown actress and director who passed away in 2013. The award ceremony takes place tonight, July 26, at 7pm at the Howl! Happening: An Arturo Vega Project gallery in the East Village.

Davis McCallum, Artistic Director of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, has announced that Drama League and Drama Desk Award nominee Julia Coffey will join the company to take over the roles of Rosalind in As You Like It, and Mariana and Mistress Overdone in Measure for Measure. Coffey will first appear in As You Like It on Sunday, July 31.
