Applications for 2016 Fred Ebb Award Now Available

The Fred Ebb Foundation, in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company, will present the twelfth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters. Applications for the award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be accepted from June 1- 30, 2016. The winner will be selected in November of 2016. The Shaw Festival's 55th season begins Saturday at 2 p.m. with the first preview of Thornton Wilder's beloved play Our Town. Molly Smith, artistic director of Washington, D.C's Tony award-winning Arena Stage, returns to The Shaw to breathe vivid, new life into this classic piece of theatre - a talent she displayed so brilliantly in her production of My Fair Lady in 2011.
AthensWest Theatre Company to Stage Regional Premiere of GOLDEN BOY OF THE BLUE RIDGE

AthensWest concludes its inaugural season with the hilarious musical comedy Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge. Based on J.M. Synge's classic comedy The Playboy of the Western World, this toe tappin', banjo-pickin' adaptation is by Peter Mills and Cara Reichel. It played Off-Broadway, and has since made the rounds in regional theatre. Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge runs in Lexington at the Downtown Arts Center April 22-May 1.

Prospect Theater Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Cara Reichel and Managing Director Melissa Huber, has announced that due to a scheduling conflict Nathan Gardner will replace the previously announced Jason Gotay in the principal role of Carlo Gesualdo for the premiere of Death for Five Voices from March 24 - April 17, at The Sheen Center, 18 Bleecker Street, NYC.
