Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce that Vineyard Theatre's 2017-2018 season will include the world premiere of THE BEAST IN THE JUNGLE, a new work - fusing drama, dance and music - by five-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman (CONTACT, THE PRODUCERS), playwright David Thompson (SCOTTSBORO BOYS), and legendary composer and four-time Tony Award winner John Kander (CABARET, CHICAGO).

Kitchen Dog Theater continues its 26th season of theater with the area premiere of Trevor by Nick Jones. Inspired by true events,?Trevor?is a subversive comedy about fame, success, and the lies we tell ourselves to keep people from taking away an erratic, 200-pound chimpanzee. At the center of this hilarious and heart-wrenching play are two individuals fighting against a world unable to understand their love: Trevor, a chimpanzee who once performed in commercials with the likes of Morgan Fairchild, and his owner Sandra, who swears he would never hurt a fly...at least not on purpose. KDT Co-Artistic Director Tina Parker directs this hilarious and heartbreaking exploration of family, flawed communication, and humanity.
Huntington's SPOTLIGHT SPECTACULAR Raises Over $1,000,000

Over 500 guests honored Wimberly Award recipients Mayor Martin J. Walsh and Tony and Grammy Award winner Billy Porter, while raising over $1,000,000 (with additional gifts still coming in) to support the Huntington and its programs, including its renowned education and community initiatives at the Spotlight Spectacular on Monday, April 24. "Thousands of young people come to the Huntington to see productions each year through our student matinee program either at no charge or for a nominal fee," said Managing Director Michael Maso. "This program is the centerpiece of all our education programs, the place where opportunity begins and lives are changed."
Huntington's New Shops to Be Located in Everett, Massachusetts

After an extensive search of the Greater Boston area for a new space to house the construction and painting of their theatrical sets and props, the Huntington Theatre Company Production Center will relocate to 46 Garden Street in Everett, Massachusetts effective July 1, 2017. The Huntington's current production facility located at 252-258 Huntington Avenue in Boston, next door to the Boston University Theatre, will become the site of a new building developed by QMG Huntington LLC, who purchased the lot in May 2016. The Huntington Theatre Company will retain the Huntington Avenue Theatre in Boston (known as the BU Theatre until June 30, 2017) on a permanent basis, and will continue to produce world-class theatre there and at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA.

Best known for her portrayal of teenaged Mattie in both series of the hit television programme, Lucy trained at the Nottingham Television Workshop.

The 15th anniversary production of Theresa Rebeck's irresistible comedy Bad Dates will complete the Huntington Theatre Company's 2017-2018 season. Bad Dates will be directed by Huntington favorite Jessica Stone (This season's Ripcord and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at the Huntington), and the play joins the previously announced seven titles in the 2017-2018 season.

Michael Berresse will direct the gala show. Larry Pressgrove will be the music director. Huntington Theatre Company, Boston's leading professional theatre, announces its 2017-2018 season. The Huntington has long been an anchor cultural institution of Huntington Avenue, the Avenue of the Arts, and will remain so on a permanent basis. The Huntington's upcoming season will include productions in the Huntington Avenue Theatre (known as the BU Theatre through June 30), and plans are underway to convert the theatre into a first-rate, modern venue with expanded services to audiences, artists, and the community. The 36th season will include four plays at the Huntington Avenue Theatre, as well as three plays at the Wimberly Theatre and one special event in the Roberts Studio Theatre, both located in the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA in the South End.
