Irresistible Comedy BAD DATES to Complete Huntington's 2017-2018 Season

The 15th anniversary production of Theresa Rebeck's irresistible comedy Bad Dates will complete the Huntington Theatre Company's 2017-2018 season. Bad Dates will be directed by Huntington favorite Jessica Stone (This season's Ripcord and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at the Huntington), and the play joins the previously announced seven titles in the 2017-2018 season.

Bad Dates follows restaurant manager and shoe connoisseur Haley Walker as she re-enters the dating world. From the privacy of her bedroom, she relates a series of hilarious tales while preparing for, and recovering from, one dreadful date after another. One of the most popular shows in Huntington history, this 15th anniversary production of Theresa Rebeck's sweet and sharp comedy will be the hottest date night in town and a triumphant night out for women of all ages! "I'm thrilled to be reviving Bad Dates at the Huntington," says playwright Theresa Rebeck. "Boston, you're my home!" Rebeck is a widely produced and highly acclaimed writer of plays, novels, and film and television. Her plays include Mauritius (world premiere at the Huntington, winner of Elliot Norton and IRNE Awards for Best Play), Dead Accounts, Seminar, The Scene, The Water's Edge, Spike Heels, and The Understudy. Her novels include Three Girls and Their Brother, Twelve Rooms with a View, and I'm Glad About You. For television, she has written for "Dream On," "LA Law," and "Third Watch," among many others; been a writer/producer on "Canterbury's Law;" "Law & Order: Criminal Intent;" and "NYPD Blue;" and created the NBC drama "Smash." Ms. Rebeck is an alumna of Brandeis University.

The Huntington's 36th season will include four plays at the Huntington Avenue Theatre, as well as three plays at the Wimberly Theatre and one special event in the Roberts Studio Theatre, both located in the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA in the South End.

Arthur Miller, the most celebrated American playwright of the 20th century, was said to be the moral conscience of the nation, but he had a secret: a son born with Down syndrome whom he refused to acknowledge. Renowned Hollywood reporter Bernard Weinraub explores the fascinating untold story of Miller and his third wife, photographer Inge Morath, and the divide between their public personas and private lives. "For all the public drama of Arthur Miller's career, one character was absent: the child he deleted from his life," says Vanity Fair.
