Corky Hale, legendary jazz harpist, pianist, vocalist, and social activist, will sign copies of her new book, "Corky Hale Uncorked," on Wed., Jan. 16 at 7 PM at Book Soup in West Hollywood.

PlayGround has announced the lineup for its second annual PlayGround Solo Performance Festival, a celebration of the best in Bay Area solo performance, running January 24-February 10 at Potrero Stage. The festival features 12 double-bill performances by 11 local artists over three weeks, including new works by Ron Campbell, Julie Gieseke, Malcolm Grissom, Emil  Guillermo, Michael Phillis, Fred Pitts, Kathryn Seabron, and Talisha Tolliver, as well as special guests Marga Gomez, Matthew Martin, and Nina Wise, with each evening running a little over two hours. PlayGround opens the program to the next generation of performers with a special Open Mic Night on Monday, January 28, at 8pm. The festival, initiated last winter as one of PlayGround's new "pop-up" programs, represents an extension of PlayGround's mission and commitment to the discovery of bold new voices for the stage and the first PlayGround offering fully dedicated to solo performance. Each year, savvy jazz fans look forward to the annual Highlights In Jazz series. For almost a half century, the Jack Kleinsinger-produced events have brought together a multitude of beloved jazz musicians spanning an eclectic mix of generations and styles. The 2019 season is no exception, with four stellar concerts featuring some of the brightest luminaries in jazz today.

Suzanna Ross will be singing in her new show - Bewitched - at Don't Tell Mama on February 7, 2019. The show highlights a collection of bewitching and romantic songs from around the world, including American, French, and British songbooks. There are favorites as well as a few surprises. The line-up spans jazz, pop, French chansons, bossa nova, movie songs, and a country tune. From the song lists of Peggy Lee, Doris Day, Charles Aznavour, 1960s pop, Jobim, Marlene Dietrich, Patsy Cline, and more. Suzanna's singing has been described in reviews as 'convincing to the ears,' 'passionate,' 'well-paced,' and 'magical.'

As previously announced, FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, will present Jill Eikenberry in Here I Go Again! The Golden Globe winner returns to the Feinstein's/54 Below stage with more songs from her life and her career, this time joined by a few very special guests. Now joining the previously announced Tony Award winners Joanna Gleason (Into the Woods) and Randy Graff (City of Angels) is the celebrated writer, performer and composer David Rasche (Little Miss Sunshine, Sledge Hammer!).

NYC-based, dark synth pop artist, L'FREAQ, shares the visuals for her single, 'New Skin,' via Nylon. The track is from her new EP, Weird Awakenings, which is out now.

Known for his multifaceted musical personality, composer/musician Wayne Horvitz displays his remarkably singular and distinguishable sound in two new recordings: his debut pianos/keys-bass-drums trio album The Snowghost Sessions (Songlines, 10.05.18) and his debut orchestral CD Those Who Remain (National Sawdust Tracks, 10.12.18). PEGGY LEE is being celebrated December 15 at 7:00PM at Green Room 42 as the Season Finale of Blake Allen's 'An Evening With...' Series. Called 'an important vehicle for music preservation' (BroadwayWorld), the series is committed to honoring, and educating audiences about, the music of America from the early-mid part of the 20th century by setting these celebrated works with notable contemporary voices and new arrangements.

Acclaimed actress and singer Dianna Agron returns to Cafe Carlyle, January 22-February 2. From Marianne Faithfull and Nancy Sinatra to Nico and Peggy Lee, Dianna will be paying tribute to some of finest female-fronted acts of the '60s and '70s. By way of the hit TV show Glee, selling more than twelve million albums worldwide and tackling two major tours, she is no stranger to the stage. A resident of New York, she is thrilled to bring her voice back to Cafe Carlyle, something she feels cements her place in the city. She will be joined by talented friends and musicians, Gill Landry, Margot, and a few surprise guests.

Acclaimed Verve recording artist Brenna Whitaker will make her San Diego debut at Martinis Above Fourth on November 28, and her Hollywood debut at Catalina Bar & Grill on November 29, with her holiday show In the Spirit of Christmas, it was announced today by Chris Isaacson Presents.

In four stellar concerts featuring some of the brightest luminaries in jazz today, 2019's Highlights In Jazz series brings together a multitude of beloved jazz musicians spanning an eclectic mix of generations and styles. You'll hear unforgettable performances from jazz veterans including Warren Vaché, Houston Person, and Norman Simmons; up-and-comers like Veronica Swift, Christian Sands, and Peter and Will Anderson; and straight-ahead stalwarts such as Steve Turre, George Cables, Buster Williams, along with many more. These gifted players and others will pay tribute to a pantheon of jazz legends, including this year's featured honoree, trumpeter Randy Brecker; plus, the music of Randy Weston, Erroll Garner, Sidney Bechet, Louis Armstrong will also be featured.

The show is entitled "Bonnie Sings Rosie" and the Rosie is the incomparable Rosemary Clooney. Bonnie's show is part of the Cabaret On Sundays Series 10th season and presented by Les Michaels. Joining Bonnie will be pianist Joel Baker and Danny Flahive on bass. Tickets for the show are $15 cash only and sold at the door that opens at 1 pm for the 2 pm show.
