Second Stage Theatre's One-Week Extension of HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE Canceled

Due to a last-minute scheduling-conflict with lead actor Norbert Leo Butz, Second Stage Theatre's one-week extension of their critically-acclaimed production of How I Learned to Drive has been canceled. The limited engagement will now conclude on Sunday, March 11 as originally scheduled. Written by Paula Vogel and directed by Kate Whoriskey, the production features Mr. Butz and Elizabeth Reaser and is playing at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd Street). ALADDIN to Make Asian Premiere in Manila This November

According to their website, Atlantic Productuctions will present the Asian premiere of Disney's Aladdin. The show will open at Manila's Meralco Theatre in November 2012. Casting has not yet been announced.

Sonoma State University Department of Theatre Arts & Dance is behind the wheel again with Paula Vogel's "How I Learned to Drive." The critically acclaimed production, which sold out each of its SSU campus performances last fall, is slated for three encore performances in February and March.

Given its pedigree as a Pulitzer winner that swept every playwriting award an Off-Broadway entry could win during its premiere run in 1997, you would think that Paula Vogel's How I Learned To Drive would follow the lead of other Off-Broadway successes like Driving Miss Daisy, Steel Magnolias and, most recently, Wit, and return to New York in a Broadway production.
