Directed by Laura Kepley, CPH Associate Artistic Director, In the Next Room, or the vibrator play takes place at the dawn of electricity, when a remarkable treatment for "hysterical" men and women is taking place. A funny and touching play about marriage and intimacy, A 2010 Tony Award® Nominee for Best Play and a Pulitzer Prize finalist, In the Next Room, or the vibrator play will begin in the Second Stage at PlayhouseSquare on Friday, April 13 and is intended for mature audiences. Due to popular demand, the run has been extended one week and will now play through Sunday, May 13, 2012. Thom Fogarty will direct the World Premiere of THE ARTIFACTS by Steven Fechter (THE WOODSMAN), which will be, presented April 18th through the 29th, 2012, by Other Side Productions and Thom Fogarty. This intimate 'black box' production of Steven Fechter's exciting new work has a cast of four : Lulu Fogarty*, Caitlin Rose McMahon, Amy Newhall and Armand Anthony. Music by reknown jazz artist "Blue" Gene Tyranny. Costume, Lighting and Stage design by Thom Fogarty.

The cast of the American premiere of the Royal Court Theatre's Olivier Award-winning new production, COCK will star Jason Butler Harner as M, Amanda Quaid as W, Cory Michael Smith as John and Cotter Smith as F. Written by Mike Bartlett and directed by James Macdonald, COCK will open Off-Broadway at The Duke on 42nd Street, a NEW 42nd STREET project, 229 West 42nd Street, on Thursday, May 17 and previews will begin Thursday, May 1.

Paula Vogel’s A CIVIL WAR CHRISTMAS Available Now in Paperback

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) today announced the publication of Paula Vogel's pageant play for all seasons, A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration. This volume features a conversation between the author and noted historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, commentary on the music of the Civil War and its singing soldiers and excerpts from historical journals such as that of Walt Whitman. A Civil War Christmas, declared "The Best Play of the Year" by the Hartford Courant, premiered in 2008 at Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, CT under the direction of Tina Landau.

Stars of both stage and screen joined the celebration when the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Vineyard Theatre honored Tony Award-winner Linda Lavin at the Off-Broadway company's annual Gala on Monday, March 12 at the Hudson Theater in Manhattan. Ms. Lavin made her Vineyard Theatre debut earlier this season in the critically acclaimed production of Nicky Silver's play THE LYONS and will again star in THE LYONS when the play moves to Broadway next month starting April 5 at the Cort Theatre.

Nicky Silver's play THE LYONS -- a critical and popular success when it debuted last fall at Vineyard Theatre -- will transfer to Broadway's Cort Theatre (138 W. 48 St.) with its entire original cast expected to be inteact, including the Tony Award-winning stars Linda Lavin and Dick Latessa, along with Kate Jennings Grant, Brenda Pressley and Gregory Wooddell. Michael Esper is in negotionations to return as well. The Vineyard Theatre production of THE LYONS will be presented on Broadway by producer Kathleen K. Johnson. Mark Brokaw directs.

Lee Brady is a playwright and woman of many theatrical hats, including actor, professor, and critic. Her What About Ben? will be the only play in the current 3Girls Women's Theatre Festival to have been previously produced. The one-character play won an International Playwriting Award in 2003 when it was produced in San Jose, Costa Rica.
