According to Variety, actor and magician Ricky Jay has died at age 72. His manager, Winston Simone, confirmed that he died of natural causes.

Love Actually Live, a multimedia-concert celebration of the soundtrack to one of the most beloved holiday movies of all time from the team behind Los Angeles' award-winning For The Record series, is featured this holiday season at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts from Tuesday, December 4, through Monday, December 31, 2018. Co-Produced by the Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts, Shane Scheel and Siobhan O'Neill and inspired by the Universal Pictures/Working Title motion picture written by Richard Curtis, this world-premiere production, presented by special arrangement with Universal Theatrical Group, transforms The Wallis' Bram Goldsmith Theater into a giant, immersive, cinema for the modern day. The production, a one-of-a-kind presentation is performed live by an all-star cast and 15-piece orchestra, includes songs from the hit film, including "Christmas Is All Around," "The Trouble with Love Is," and "Both Sides Now.'

Good Charlotte today released a new music video for 'Self Help', the latest single off their recently released album Generation Rx. The video provides a physical metaphor for the song's tough lyrical themes, following a boxer as he works to better himself and his mind. It's a glance into the demanding perseverance that it takes to overcome self-doubt, depression, personal frustration, and other mental health issues. The video was filmed onsite at City of Angels Boxing Gym in Los Angeles, CA and Summit Theater in Colorado. Jake Stark, with whom the band previously worked with on their impactful music videos for singles 'Prayers' and 'Shadowboxer', directed the piece.

A "vast and visually overwhelming nature documentary" (The New Yorker) that was 30 years in the making, Voyage of Time is both a stunning visual fantasia and science documentary, capturing and envisioning the life cycle of the universe. It is an expansion of the "birth of the universe" segment from Malick's acclaimed 2011 film The Tree of Life.

The Park Theatre's River Street Theatre (RST) will screen the 2018 Sundance Film Festival Short Film Tour, a 91-minute theatrical program of seven short films selected from this year's Festival, on Saturday, August 4 at 7pm and Wednesday, August 8 at 2pm. Short on time but big on style, the Short Film Tour features a wide variety of storytelling, including fiction, documentary and animation from around the globe. Three of the films in the program won Short Film Jury Awards at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
