Stage Vet ARIEL FELIX Co-Stars In MILE 22 With Mark Wahlberg

After earning rave reviews in a highly successful extended run of "Paper Dolls," ARIEL FELIX will next be seen on the big screen in the much-anticipated "Mile 22."

Felix portrays the Deputy Foreign Minister in the action film set to premiere on August 17th from STX Entertainment and Film 44. Aided by a top-secret tactical command team, the film follows elite CIA Operative James Silva (Wahlberg), as he smuggles a mysterious police officer with sensitive information about the country. Felix is the diplomat who tries to negotiate the release of the officer from the American Embassy.

Working on the film was part of what Felix called "an actor trifecta." Recently, he was also a top-of-show guest star on NBC's "Chicago Fire." He portrayed a father trying to save himself and his daughter in a collapsing building. He followed that up with a prime stage role in "Paper Dolls," based on the award-winning documentary. His electrifying performance as a transgender caregiver earned him high praises including the Washington Post proclaiming "Felix is excellent!" and BroadwayWorld calling him "an incredibly talented monologist."

"It's been a rewarding year to say the least and I'm grateful. Any actor would be," said Felix. His roles in these high profile projects have given him the chance to prove his versatility and depth. It also earned him some serious airline mileage. Aside from his work in DC and Chicago, he filmed MILE 22 in Atlanta and Bogota, Colombia.

Apart from his "trifecta," Felix also stars in the indie film "The Others." It is directed by Tribeca alum Amanda Brennan and is making the rounds of the film festival circuit. It has garnered awards including a Best Actor nomination for Felix.

With his recent successes, Felix and his reps are gearing up for the upcoming television season. He said another film would be just great. "Yes, another one with Peter Berg!" he exclaimed. This New York City native has built a solid career in film, television and stage. He appeared opposite Juaquin Phoenix in Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master" and opposite Christian Bale in Lisa Cholodenko's "Laurel Canyon." His network television credits include a recurring role in the long-running ABC drama "Grey's Anatomy." In addition, Felix was awarded Best Lead Actor (Desert Theatre League Award) for his role in "Miss Saigon."
