Broadway Talent Will Head INTO THE WOODS, Starring Emily Skinner, at TUTS; Cast Complete!

As previously announced, Tony-Award-nominated actress, Emily Skinner, will head up an all star cast for a newly conceptualized production of Into The Woods at Theatre Under The Stars this holiday season. The production, which is being directed and choreographed by Tony Award Nominee Robert Longbottom, will run in Houston from December 6 - 18, 2016 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. TUTS has just announced complete casting for the production.

In its latest production, UNNECESSARY FARCE by Paul Slade Smith, Playhouse on Park gives audiences a fun romp filled with mistaken identities, the Scottish mafia, bumbling crooks (and equally bumbling police officers) and as mentioned, slamming doors - eight of them to be exact.

Broadway'sFinding Neverland, the magical story of how Peter became Pan, has forever departed the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 46th Street, between Broadway and 8th Avenue), sailing off for a First National U.S. Tour and forthcoming 2017 West End production. Finding Neverland opened on Broadway on April 15, 2015 and played 33 previews and 565 performances.

Just last night, Transport Group presented a benefit concert of the classic 1954 Comden & Green/Charlap & Leigh musical, Peter Pan. Ragtime On Ellis Island just announced that Tony Award winner and Original Broadway cast member Brian Stokes Mitchell (Shuffle Along, Man of La Mancha) and acclaimed stage and television star Andy Mientus (Spring Awakening, Les Miserables) have joined the lineup of the highly anticipated site-specific developmental concert on Monday, August 8. The all-star cast, directed by Sammi Cannold (Violet on a moving bus at A.R.T; Assistant Director for Diane Paulus & Rachel Chavkin), will perform a selection of songs from the Tony Award-winning musical that features music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and a book by Terrence McNally. The concert is being presented by Suzanne Friedman with an eye towards an immersive, full production of the acclaimed American musical on Ellis Island in 2017.

The McLean Community Players (MCP) present Paul Slade Smith's Unnecessary Farce, opening April 29, 2016, in McLean's Alden Theatre. Director Jessie Roberts leads an award-winning cast and crew in bringing this production to the Alden stage. Unnecessary Farce combines all the elements of a classic farce with a contemporary American plot: the police procedural. This side-splitting show will have its 200th production this year. MCP's production opens Today, April 29, and runs weekends through May 14, with performances todays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and two Sunday matinees, May 1 and 8, at 2 p.m.
