David Buchbinder's Odessa/Havana continues the twenty-first season of Sunset Concerts at the Skirball Cultural Center, on Thursday, August 24, at 8:00 p.m.

Celebrating his historic 75th birthday on August 9, 2017, music legend Jack DeJohnette will continue year-long birthday festivities with extensive touring, limited edition product releases, and more.  

The Oshman Family Jewish Community Center of Palo Alto proudly presents the stellar line-up for its Fall 2017-2018 Arts & Dialogues series, featuring world-renowned musicians, artists, and a host of fascinating thinkers, doers, and innovators. Beginning in September and continuing through December, the OFJCC will host spectacular performances from globally acclaimed instrumentalists such as Israeli cellist Amit Peled and Yeshiva University's The Maccabeats a cappella phenomena. The Jazz Giants series will have audience members swaying along to the mesmerizing sounds of trumpeter Avishai Cohen, and the infectious rhythms of multi-award-winning jazz pianist Kenny Barron. Families will love the whimsical and interactive Amazing Bubble Man, and the much-anticipated return of Opera for Families provides an enriching introduction to the art form for youth of all ages. In December, acclaimed actor Bill Murray will charm audiences with his unique brand of wit in a rare live performance with distinguished German cellist Jan Vogler, in a one-of-a-kind experience combining literature and classical music.

SIMON & GARFUNKEL SHOW is an "internationally- acclaimed hit theatre show" that is coming to The Appell Center for the Performing Arts, in York, PA, on September 24, 2017.

For the sixth consecutive year, singers from around the world will compete online for a coveted spot in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, a 21st century version of the amateur night at the Apollo Theater that helped launch the career of a gifted teenager from Newark, Sarah 'Sassy' Vaughan, more than 70 years ago.

Berkshire Theatre Group and Artistic Director/CEO Kate Maguire are excited to announce additions to the fall and winter seasons, as well as casting for the Fall production of David Auburn's Lost Lake at The Unicorn Theatre.

Sunset Concerts at the Skirball continues with Cuba's Dayme Arocena, taking the stage on Thursday, August 17, at 8:00 p.m., in a performance copresented with the Ford Theatres as part of its IGNITE @ the FORD! series. A singer, composer, and choir director, Arocena draws inspiration from jazz, soul, classical music, and the intertwining musical legacies of her native country. The evening begins with DJ Carlos Niño of dublab, who will spin a set at 6:30 p.m.

On Today, July 27, at 8:00 p.m., the Skirball Cultural Center launches its twenty-first season of Sunset Concerts with American Tune Featuring Sean Watkins & Friends: A Singer-Songwriter Celebration of Paul Simon, featuring the Grammy-winning musician and songwriter Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek, Watkins Family Hour, Works Progress Administration) and friends Cary Brothers, Gaby Moreno, Joey Ryan, The Bee Eaters, plus other special guests.

French-Caribbean roots trio Delgres continues the twenty-first season of Sunset Concerts at the Skirball on Thursday, August 10, at 8:00 p.m.

In a consistently colorful musical career that spans nearly four decades, Willie Nilehas established a reputation as a world-class rock 'n' roller, and as a singular songwriter with deep roots in rock's rich history. So it's not surprising that he'd choose to tip his hat to one of his most enduring musical inspirations with his eleventh studio album, Positively Bob: Willie Nile Sings Bob Dylan, a heartfelt, personally charged set of Dylan covers that honors its subject while exemplifying the same qualities that have distinguished Nile's work since the beginning.

Tony and two-time Grammy Award winner Jennifer Holliday will bring Jennifer Holliday: In a Mellow Tone to San Francisco's Marines' Memorial Theatre (609 Sutter St.) for one performance only - Today, July 21 at 8 p.m.

Americana husband-and-wife duo Swearingen and Kelli are set to release their sophomore album, The Marrying Kind, on July 21, 2017.  Unafraid of spilling their guts in their music, the Florida-based twosome of AJ Swearingen and Jayne Kelli presents 12 songs that challenge the listener to explore life's hard questions while embracing what you have in the moment.  

Curvy Widow, a new musical comedy with a book by Bobby Goldman, music and lyrics by Drew Brody (Broadway: Oh Hello; Cutman), and directed by Peter Flynn (Rhapsody in Seth; Two Rooms), will play at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Local favorite Dave Eggar is returning to Barter Theatre's Gilliam Stage this year in a one-night event composed just for the venue.

The Skirball Cultural Center continues its twenty-first season of Sunset Concerts with the West Coast debut of Ibibio Sound Machine on Thursday, August 3, at 8:00 p.m. Fronted by London-born Nigerian singer Eno Williams, Ibibio Sound Machine blends African and electronic elements, inspired in equal parts by the golden era of West African funk, disco, modern post-punk, and electro. The evening begins with DJ Jasmin Blanco of dublab, who will spin a set at 6:30 p.m.
