Lindsay Harris Friel's TRAVELING LIGHT Set for Philly Fringe, 9/6-14

London's "Summer of Love" comes to Center City in the Philly Fringe with the Philadelphia premiere of 'Traveling Light' by Philadelphia playwright Lindsay Harris Friel. The play is directed by Liam Castellan and produced by Liam's Sofa Cushion Fortress in The Skybox at The Adrienne Theater, September 6-14, 2013. Tickets are $20 ($10 preview tickets available for the 9/6 performance) and can be purchased at the door or through the FringeArts Box Office atwww.fringearts.com.

ABC received 45 nominations for the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards this morning, including nods for Kerry Washington and Connie Britton, both for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

Gingold Theatrical Group's PROJECT SHAW presented Bernard Shaw's madcap comedy TOO TRUE TO BE GOOD at The Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan. David Staller produced and directed. In TOO TRUE TO BE GOOD, a glamorous pair of jewel thieves (Charles Busch and Robert Cuccioli) convince a chronic young convalescent (Ryann Redmond) to steal her own jewels and run away with them to a tropical paradise. Her over-protective mother (Jackie Hoffman) comes chasing after them and a riotous time is had by all. This is Shaw's 1931 madcap high-comedy journey, which takes on fad diets, the medical profession, the military, war, religion, and sex. It's a short and lively comedic lark.
