After record breaking runs in 2006, 2008 and 2011 WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, will return to Ft. Lauderdale this January for a limited 3-week engagement, January 30 - February 17, 2013. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the production below.

After breaking box office records in the three previous engagements, WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, has once again set records at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. WICKED grossed $2,755,070 for the week ending December 30. The total was not only a new house record at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, but also the highest gross for a week of performances in North American touring history.

WICKED is pure spectacle, or to quote Glinda the Good Witch herself, it's a "thrill-ifying" experience that dazzles and delights, with terrific performances and eye-popping scenic design and special effects. The plot gives a back story to L. Frank's Baum's Wizard of Oz, that is unexpected, and infused with a positive message about accepting people for who they are and not how they appear.

After record breaking runs in 2006, 2008 and 2011 WICKED will return to Ft. Lauderdale this January for a limited 3-week engagement. Tickets for the return engagement go on sale at 10:00am on Friday, November 16th.
