New York Live Arts today announced details for their 2015 Gala, taking place March 10 at SIR Stage37. Co-chaired by Laurie Anderson, Slobodan Randjelovic and Jon Stryker, the Gala will launch the 2015 Live Ideas festival, guest curated by Laurie Anderson.

Yesterday, November 10, 2014, Theatre Communications Group (TCG) celebrated its annual gala. This year the organization honored Jules Fisher, Lynn Nottage, and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation at 583 Park Avenue in New York City. The performances included previews of two productions from TCG Member Theatres: A Walk on the Moon (New York Stage and Film) and Immediate Family (About Face Theatre, Center Theatre Group, and the Goodman Theatre). Taye Diggs was the 2014 Skin Cancer Foundation Gala's Master of Ceremonies. Sting kicked off the event, performing three songs -- 'Every Breath You Take,' 'The Night the Pugilist Learned How To Dance,' from his new Broadway musical The Last Ship which opens October 26 at the Neil Simon Theatre, and 'Message in a Bottle.' The third edition of Art Southampton, the leading international contemporary and modern art fair for acquiring investment quality works of art opened last night with huge success, where top collectors, curators, art advisors and influencers kicked off the weekend-long event. Taking place on the 18-acre estate behind the Southampton Elks Lodge, the Platinum VIP saw over 1,500 top collectors of the East End, and throughout the elegant evening, attendance exceeded last year's VIP Preview of 4,200 guests. Over 400 international collectors and prominent figures in art, fashion, beauty and finance flocked to have the first look at an extraordinary survey of four decades of work by famed photographer Robert Farber on Thursday January 30. The show Farberesque: From Pensive to Provocative at 3West57 Project presented by Cavalier Gallery is a fascinating overview of the vast body of work created by the iconic photographer who has influenced scores of the world's leading photographers with his painterly, impressionistic style that allows the viewer to see the subject from a different perspective by creating unique compositions . Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, Ailey's 2013-14 Season at New York City Center kicked off December 4th with an Opening Night Gala Benefit hosted by Honorary Co-Chair Gabrielle Union. The event's co-chairs were Simin Allison & in memory, Herb Allison, Kathryn & Kenneth Chenault, Daria L. Foster & Erich J. Wallach, Agnes & Gerald Hassell, Debra L. Lee, and Joan & Sandy Weill. The evening helped raise over $2.4 million for the creation of new works and Alvin Ailey's extensive educational programs for young people, including AileyCamp and scholarships to The Ailey School. On Monday, October 21, PEN American Center, the largest branch of the world's leading literary and human rights organization, celebrated its 2013 Literary awards at the Proshansky Auditorium of CUNY Graduate Center in New York City.

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting was incredibly sad to hear of the passing of its friend James Gandolfini. One of Gandolfini's last public appearances was on June 10 when he came to the Stella by Starlight Gala that benefits the programs for the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. On Monday, May 13 Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for Theatre honored Ruth and Stephen Hendel and Ming Cho Lee at their Gala Evening. The evening was held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation (172 Norfolk Street) in New York City, cocktails started at 6pm and dinner started at 7pm. Jessica Hecht was the emcee of the evening; the Gala co-chairs were playwright Lydia R. Diamond and interior designer Jasmine M. Keller. The Gala honorary chairs were Anne Kaufman, Obie award-winning director; Nelle Nugent, Broadway producer; Judith O. On Monday, October 22, 2012, the Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) hosted the 30th Anniversary Princess Grace Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City and presented 25 Awards to emerging artists in theater, dance and film, as well as the Princess Grace Statue Award presented to actor Patrick Page and sound designer Darron L West. The Gala took place in the presence of TSH The Prince and Princess of Monaco.

The annual event honored Genentech,PGA TOUR and Lucy Danziger, Editor-in-Chief of SELF Magazine. Honorees received Skin Sense Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievements in skin health, including public education about sun protection and skin cancer prevention.
