PASSCAL, Americana Music to Present 75th Anniversary Production of OUR TOWN, 8/2-11

To celebrate the anniversary of Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN, PASSCAL will produce a limited engagement of the classic play with Americana music and original scoring composed by Jonathan Kupper, at The First Congregational Church in Buena Park, California for the first two weekends of August. It is the ONLY production slated for the Southern California area for the Anniversary! The production is being produced by PASSCAL (Performing Arts Society of Southern California) in Association with All Seasons Theatre Company, Inc. Patrick Riviere, who most recently directed the acclaimed production of THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT at The Victory Theatre in Burbank, will helm the production. Casting is set to be complete in early June.

Michele Ragusa and Mike McGowan Set for KISS ME, KATE Concert with Buffalo Philharmonic Tonight

Mike McGowan, (PRISCILLA, GREASE, RAGTIME) currently on tour in BOOK OF MORMON will reunite with his KISS ME KATE cohort, Broadway veteran Michele Ragusa (YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, URINETOWN, RAGTIME) to star in a staged concert version of the classic musical with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Matthew Kraemer and directed by James Brennan.

Michele Ragusa Returns to Buffalo in KISS ME KATE CONCERT,4/27

Buffalo native Michele Ragusa, who has been seen on Broadway in Young Frankenstein, Titanic and Ragtime, will play Lilli/Kate in a staged concert version of Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate April 27 with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.The 8 PM performance will be conducted by Matthew Kraemer and directed by James Brennan.

Casa 0101 Theatre Previews 'Story Theatre' Programs in LA, 5/3 & 4

Casa 0101 will celebrate the West Coast Premiere of PIE (Projects In Education) as two "preview" performances of its "Story Theatre" Program for Teachers, Community Leaders, PTA/PTO reps and of course children and families. These preview performances will be free and reservations are necessary. They will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, May 3rd and 7:00PM on Saturday, May 4th at Little Casa 0101 Theater in Boyle Heights.

PIE Makes West Coast Debut in May

PIE (Projects In Education) had its premiere in New York City's Central Park in the summer of 1991. The programming, created by Patrick Riviere (then Artistic Director of The Emerging Artists Project, Inc.) would go on to critical acclaim and much success in the New York Tri-State area and also Chicago, Illinois. Since that time, PIE has reached thousands of children and families in schools, parks, libraries, women's shelters, children's hospitals and other venues, often sponsored by the community, Riviere's own non-profits or through grants and donations.

Producer Dee Smith's vision for doing THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT came to her during a trip to Rome, Italy long before Pope Benedict decided to call it quits. She had been cast in another LA production several years ago, but she, along with several other cast members left the production early in the process. On March 1st, the controversial and much talked about Stephen Adly Guirgis play opened at The Victory Theatre Center (Big Victory) and will continue through until April 6th. Professional Actress Dee Smith has confirmed that she is producing an AEA production of Stephen Adly Guirgis's play, THE LAST DAYS OFJUDAS ISCARIOT at The Victory Theatre in Burbank. Smith is best known for playing the role of Ellis in the Festival Film, ALL OUT, which earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the Texas Black Film Festival. She also co-starred in the highly touted American Premiere of THE IMAGINARY LIFE OF THE STREET SWEEPER, AUGUST G last year at Casa 0101 Theatre in Los Angeles.

Patrick Riviere, best known for his work Off-Broadway in OPA! (MITF nominated outstanding supporting actor) and FAMILY DINNER as well as the recent American Premiere of THE IMAGINARY LIFE OF THE STREET SWEEPER AUGUST G at Casa 0101 Theater in Los Angeles can now be heard as the voices of Scrooge and the Black Hen on the PIE Story Theatre Holiday Stories and Carols CD produced by PIE Story Theatre. He is joined by two-time Drama Critic Award Winner Kellie Johnson (BLOOD BROTHERS and FORBIDDEN BROADWAY) who also won critical acclaim for her turn as Jackie Cochran in the World Premiere of THE FASTEST WOMAN ALIVE Off-Broadway.
