THE LAST DAYS OFJUDAS ISCARIOT Opens 3/1 at The Victory Theater

Professional Actress Dee Smith has confirmed that she is producing an AEA production of Stephen Adly Guirgis's play, THE LAST DAYS OFJUDAS ISCARIOT at The Victory Theatre in BurbanK. Smith is best known for playing the role of Ellis in the Festival Film, ALL OUT, which earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the Texas Black Film Festival. She also co-starred in the highly touted American Premiere of THE IMAGINARY LIFE OF THE STREET SWEEPER, AUGUST G last year at Casa 0101 Theatre in Los Angeles.

Also announced as attached to the project are Patrick Riviere (OPA!, FAMILY DINNER) who will make his West Coast Directing debut, and actors William Stamey (Judas) and Marc Erickson (Satan). In addition to his acting, Riviere was the first Industry Professional Liaison for the Undergraduate Drama Department at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts; Education Director for Second Stage Theatre and Artistic Director of The Emerging Artist Project, Inc, and All Seasons Theatre Company. He was also the Associate Director for the Hudson Riverfront Performing Arts Center and has directed for KJK Productions, Artpark Repertory Theatre and many years for PIE Story Theatre in New York and Chicago. Stamey is best known for his work in the award winning short film JUNE GLOOM and for his work on the critically acclaimed production of WAITING FOR LEFTY at HCLab. Erickson is featured in the films EMIT (which won Best Screenplay at Sundance in 2012) and DETAINED IN THE DESERT, by renowned writer/director Josefina Lopez.

The remainder of the casting will take place just after the New Year and the design team will also be announced at that time. The play is slated to open March 1, 2013 and will run for six weeks at The Victory Theatre.
